Same here - clickity-click, clickity-click.
Same
It rarely lasts more than a few minutes before it decides itās properly night-time but the clicking can be annoying.
I finally made rules, though not flexible, at around sundown i disable motion, and re-enable 45 min later full dark. Click 1 time. Then one more rule at around dawn vise-versa. Or if you use Alexa or Google home use them to make more flexible routines ā¦
While this is a problem on some V2s under certain lighting conditions, I have not noticed it on a V3 so far, and I had several issues with V2s. I am NOT suggesting you buy a V3 to solve your issue (although they have PHENOMENAL color night vision sensitivity!), but if you are having this issue you may be able to rotate V2s, or even switch in a current V3 to solve it. I have given up on a fix for the V2s that do this.
Wayne,
Thanks for the update on the clickity-clickity defect. Itās interesting to know that Wyze addressed the issue in the V3s. Iām quite certain that all it needed was to add a little hysteresis in the day/night decision logic (a well-known technique in system design). Itās a shame they didnāt port the fix in the V3 firmware back to the V2 units. Alas, I donāt have any V3 cameras to swap around, so Iām stuck with what Iāve got.
Iāve pretty much given up on Wyze ā too many bugs, too little testing/verification, and now too many new products for them to troubleshoot and support effectively
Itās supposed to scare the thieves. The V2s have no sirens
I thought the clickity-click was a feature intended to ward off spidersš· and other creepy-crawlies that are attracted to the IR LEDs and mess up night-time imageryšø.
As an aside, since the V3s have such sensitive starlight video sensors, I have found you donāt even need IR mode if you have enough local visible light. Just a nearby yard light will do. I have enough nighttime visible light available that I have permanently switched off IR mode on ALL my 7 cameras. The bonus here is if someone is wearing a red coat I can give that description to the police. With IR, my black coat was a bright white because it reflected IR so well. If I had told them to look out for someone wearing a white coat, they would have never stopped the person from such a video. I love the V3s!
