Lots of good info in this thread! I haven’t read the whole thing, but I’ll provide a small data point:
I purchased a UGREEN PB312 for $24 (now $40). I have one indoor camera connected to it, and the Wyze power adapter is supplying power to the battery. I experimented with pulling the AC plug. The camera did reboot, then worked fine. The setup has been working fine for about 2 months.
This seems like a well-constructed unit. It’s probably a bit of overkill for this application, but it was relatively cheap.
The good thing about the Talentcell I mentioned in my previous post above yours, is that it’s a TRUE UPS. There is NO camera reboot. That is important to me for how I’m using it. I’ve unplugged power from the 120vac as well as unplugged the power pack from the Talentcell. The Wyze V3 keeps working perfectly. I do have 5 cameras; 3 V3 and 2 V4. I only have the talentcell connected to 3 of the cameras. One talentcell for one V3 camera and the other talentcell with a USB splitter running 2 other V3 cameras.
I have the same backup. I use it with my Hubitat Elevation hub. If the power fails and the database is being updated, corruption can occur causing lots of broken stuff. The Hubitat hub doesn’t even like a glitch. The TalentCell UPS supplies continual uninterrupted voltage before, during, and after a power failure.
