Being able to select a specific date and time in events instead of having to scroll through every time.
often when i am viewing the event clip for a specific camera, i see it is triggering off a tree branch that is now waving in the wind in a different spot. Instead of tapping 4 things to get to detection zone to change it:
- Livestream
- Settings
- Detection Settings
- Detection Zone
and then 4 taps to get back, can you add a button to jump to āDetection Zoneā at the event viewing level?
In the past, any filters I set (e.g. for person, package and pet) saved from one use to the next. Now, each time I go into Events, I have to reset my filter to indicate what I want. I find this irritating, I guess my main request would be to save filters from one use of events to the next.
Continuous scrolling from one day to the previous / next. e.g. Iām looking for an event that occurred sometime between late yesterday and early this morning today. I tap on yesterdayās date and search backward looking for it. Not finding it, I tap todayās day and must scroll all the way from the current time to 12:00 am today to start looking again. Iād like to be able to continuously scroll from yesterday at 11:59 pm to 12:00 am today.
Thank you everyone for your feedback. Keep em coming. The insights and view points are so helpful for our team.
there is a button to āclear allā cameras that will show on the event page. i would like a button to āselect allā to make it easier to see all the cameras on the event opening page.
thank you
Please include events other than just cameras - like motion sensor triggered, contact sensor opened/closed, garage door opened/closed, etc.
i would like a button to āselect allā to make it easier to see all the cameras on the event opening page.
Seconded. I know that when all the checkboxes are cleared, it shows events from all cameras. But I often want to display events from all cameras except 3. It would be easier if I could do a āSelect Allā, then unselect those 3, rather than going down the list and selecting 21.
In the example screen recordings, it is hard to tell what the used tapped or where they swiped. I no longer see a top-level download icon on the screen. Is that now an option under āMoreā? Or is the user swiping up from the bottom of the screen to display additional options?
I often use the download feature, so would prefer that to remain a top-level option. It is often hard to see the action icons when they overlay the video, so if they are moved to another position of the screen, that would be fine with me.
I donāt like having to swipe from sides or corners of the screen to get options; it is not intuitive for me. But I might get used to it, as long as itās not possible to accidentally invoke other actions while trying to swipe.
I would prefer the playback line to remain under the video as it is now rather than moving it to the bottom of the page. With it at the bottom, my visual focus would need to switch further, from the video to the bottom of the screen and back again, when moving the playback position. I also donāt like the āShare this video with Wyzeā text to be so prominently placed right under the video as it is in the new example.
Watching the recording on the Reddit page, it looks like there may be a bug: the user switches to 4x playback speed, and the speed appears to be increased. Then after the user moves the playback position, it still shows 4x though the playback seems to be back at 1x speed based on the tempo of the person walking in the background?
Agreed! Theyāve supposedly been working on landscape mode for many months. I was shocked that it wasnāt included in the v3 app update.
Maybe for the Monitoring tab sometime this year? I havenāt seen any word specific to the Events tab.
viewing speed in event
when I go to an event, I am looking for context of what triggered the event and then to see it in more detail which you are doing well.
for speed of viewing, I would like to to 1/4 & 1/2 speed as well as faster speeds for viewing the event.
also and perhaps optionally can we scrub thru the frames in the event by going left/right with our finger. I can almost do this by dragging the position dot but it is not scrubbing currently just positioning.
since you have freed up left/right by changing events up/down hopefully this is possible.
an optional jump to MONITOR view could also be helpful to me as then I can see related events optionally in multiple views from alternate cams. Monitor view also has nuce scrubbing feature
this longer video is very helpful.
I see that you showed a quick landscape view in the longer video.
Just a couple of feedback items for Wyze:
- At the bottom of the Events section is a sub-menu that contains āGo Liveā, āSD Cardā, āShareā, and āMoreā. Why does it hide? Itās not covering up anything and makes me tap my screen many more times to get it to display. I donāt see the logic in it hiding.
- On the same sub-menu I never, ever use the āGo Liveā selection. If I want to go live, Iāll move over to the live view. Meanwhile, I constantly use the āDeleteā selection which is further hidden under the āMoreā selection causing me to have to tap my screen twice as much to access deleting a capture. What would yāall think about maybe switching places with the āGo Liveā and āDeleteā menu?
Thank you.
I think the way this feature control strip appears might be dependent upon device and screen geometry. On my phone running the Android Wyze app v3.3.0 (609), tapping on an individual event from the Events tab makes that strip appear, but itās a vertical strip on the right side of my screen and does momentarily cover part of the video playback area before it auto-hides. I like that it shows me itās there but then gets out of the way.
I havenāt had a reason to delete any cloud videos since theyāre expected to disappear in two weeks anyway.
I can understand the prominence of the Go Live button: If someone popped into an event from a notification and watched the video to see what happened during the recording, then a single tap can get that person to the Live Stream screen to see whatās happening at that same camera right now. No need to back out to the Home tab and select the device.
I do think that if the appās interface can adapt where and how it shows this control strip (like if itās on the bottom for you and on the side for me), then it should be able to expand to fill the available space instead of forcing the More option if it has space to display everything. That way it could potentially show both Go Live and Delete buttons automatically.
