Coyote or German Shepherd?

Coyote or a very big fox.

Here is a shot of the neighborhood fox. So I agree that was a coyote.

Definitely not a dog. Gait is wrong. Close up of the tracks would prove it.

I’d guess coyote but you never know; there are actually a few breeds of dogs that look a lot like coyotes. If you want to know for sure, you can Google your state and “coyote expert” and you’ll find someone specific to your area. Otherwise, with a simple Google search, I found the links below. I call these kinds of people now and then because I tend to find a lot of injured wildlife and they are always helpful.

I’d start looking for a Road Runner!

LOL. We don’t have Road Runners here in Wisconsin. But, we do have their distant cousin the Eastern wild turkey.

The biggest difference is the German Shepard will always (and without fail) poop in your yard. So this is a coyote, no doubt about it.

Yep, on that one. We have a small farm raising alpaca, and while we’ve never had one inside our fence line (our Great Pyrenees LGD ensures that), I’ve seen a number of them over the years in the neighbors’ pastures. There is plenty of small game around (especially rabbits) that the coyotes have much easier prey to get than our livestock.

Just saw this on my Coyote Cam tonight.

Definitely a coyote, breeding season now. Around here anyways.

My Wyze cameras capture lots of animals. I probably should have blurred my neighbor’s face, but he should have picked up his dog’s business from my lawn. Oh well, we’ll call it a wash.

I really don’t like self-absorbed people like that. It’s probably true where you live too, but he would be violating 2 laws here: must be on a leash and must pick up after the dog.

If you know the person, you could always “return the deposit” to his front stoop, in a paper bag, on fire.
