Old bitch that was offered she could take her job anywhere in the USA in 2010. Bought a home over the internet and six months later moved to SW New Mexico while still working in New York… telecommuting long before it was forced upon people. As being the “techie” in accounting I became a network admin & had been doing WAN LAN setups and remote admin since the early 1990s. Being 2,300 miles from my “work” was nothing new.
I was forced to retire in 2015 after a severe back injury makes it almost impossible to stand or sit normally for more than a couple of minutes and walk more than about 75 feet. Unfortunately still waking up everyday even with a couple of close calls over the years. Limited mobility has hampered my eyes on the world and now Wyse cams have given me part of that ability to see again. I spent too much time as the “techie” and now “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” attitude prefer not to deal with the rapid changes of today. I drive a 20 year old car & still have a flatbed scanner that runs great on an XP machine WHEN NEEDED. Haven’t owned a cell phone in almost ten years but I have used VOIP for 20+ years.
Now realizing that being forced into 2020 with an Android tablet to access the Wyse cams was a positive move. Overcoming my reluctance to change at this point with what little time I may have left was hard. I am here finally.
