Wiring issue - no control board at Furnace for C-wire adapter

This wire nut should be C.

Make sure the power to the air handler is off, then strip the insulation off of the tip of the blue thermostat wire in the upper right if the image and add it to this wire nut. Then connect the blue wire to C on your thermostat. Make sure to tell the wyze app that your “old thermostat” has a C wire when you go to set it up.

Thank you! I’ll let you know how it goes when I complete the job tomorrow.

Thank you again! It works as it should.

Speedie, you seem to know a good deal on this topic. I am trying to install C Wire adapter as required. Only issue I am having is that on the furnace control board I have R, W, Y and G wires attached - all good and simple. But I also have another brown wire that is already attached to the B/C terminal on the furnace. Is it okay to leave that in place and also attach the C wire coming out of the C Wire Adapter provided by Wyze?

Share a picture, but generally, yes. You should also have 2 wires on Y, only the one that goes to your thermostat should be added to the C adapter terminal, the other one should stay on Y on the furnace board.

Hi speadie! You seem very knowledgeable about this stuff and I’m really struggling with my heat pump system without a control panel. Here are the pictures: Hvac - Google Drive

Thank you for any help you’re able to provide!

You do not appear to have a heat pump. This appears to be a hot water to air exchanger system with an air conditioner coil. The blue wire from the indoor blower enclosure is common (C).

Do you have a spare wire in your run to your thermostat? in your case, it might be a white wire that comes from the left thermostat cable in this image .
if you do, you should be able to simply connect that to the C wire nut on this side and to the C terminal on your wyze to run your system, otherwise you would need to use the C adapter.

Thank you! That is what I have! Sorry, new home owner here who has never done anything like this haha.

This is a picture of the thermostat. Is the light blue wire one connected to the “W” the one you’re saying to connect to the C on the wyze?

Or there are these wires in the control panel that aren’t connected to anything… there are the three in the front of the picture and then the white one in the back. Is one of these what you were referring to?

The white wire in back there that’s not connected to anything, but is stripped bare- check behind your current thermostat for a wire like that. It might be in the wall.

Hi speadie!

I got everything hooked up, but it’s just clicking repeatedly and not showing the Wyze screen. There was a red wire in the wire nut with the blue one that you said was common, so I left that one when I attached the white one. Should I have taken the red one out?

Thank you for all your help!

Here’s what this looks like if you need

it again

Hm, no, that should be working, unless the white wire has a fault somewhere, You can use the C adapter, I suppose. You’ll need to reset your wyze thermostat and add it again, telling it that your old thermostat has the following wires: Rc, G, Y, W
It will walk you through installing the C adapter, but here’s a cheatsheet, made for your wiring colors.

Hey Speadie!!! I’m hoping you can help me! I had an electrician come and install my new thermostat. This morning I turned on the air conditioner and it is blowing hot air so I’m assuming it isn’t wired correctly … and of course he didn’t use the stickers to label the wires. I took off my furnace faceplate to find a control board to see what color wire is in each “letter”, but I don’t see one!! I’ll send a pic of what i have!

I need to see the thermostat wiring and closeups of the following areas :

(preferably with no overlapping wire nuts, but make sure you have the power off before you re-arrange any wires)
