I have a feeling you don’t grasp what 2-way communication means. As a matter of fact, my son-in law asked my permission to propose to my daughter while I was at the cottage and he was at the front door of my house in the city with a bottle of wine in his hands. We had a nice remote 2-way conversation some 350 miles away.

Ok, so what’s the problem? What excuse should be used to leave out information one should know about? Why is it left up to the customer to put in time and effort? Isn’t the product suppose to work as advertised.
I’ll just say that you’re misunderstanding a lot of things and I think that is what is leading you to get so frustrated.
People here could help you better understand (including NTP and why the internet is needed to set time on devices with no internal clock or battery, which are numerous these days), but if you’re combative, people here (who are just fellow users helping for free) aren’t really going to be motivated to do that.
So if we have a conversation and my reply to you “beep” or “you’re being watched” to every thing you say is that a two way conversation? Is that even conversation? A fixed message is a not a conversation let alone 2-way.
Try your long distance conversation with a OG cam and see how far you get.
The Honda belongs to my other, younger and more adventurous daughter. She still thinks can salvage that crap. She doesn’t comprehend that the brakes are sealed, needs new clutch, rack-n-pinion, seals, tires, battery… the list goes on. The car doesn’t bother me at all, actually it helps when we are at the cottage, people think someone is home. Theft deterrent 
2 daughters… no wonder you need to escape to an island from time to time.
Just use the smoke from Manitoba, My brother sent me a picture from rural South Western New York yesterday, the sun was all Orange from Canuck Smoke. I told him to enact a Traffic on Canadian Smoke. 
Not so much lately, when they were teenagers, different story.
