Just go purchase a large truck or marine battery you cheapskate and rig up a connection from that.
(Mr. Reolink) @bryonhu or his friend can tell you how to do it.
That’s what I do: house current > Battery Tender > Group 27M deep cycle 12v marine battery > 12v/5v USB adapter > cam(s)
Hey, thanks fellers, I hear ya, but I’m needing a utility device to do a lot of different stuff as needed, short-term, easily portable and flexible-like. Temporary cam placement in blind spots, crawl spaces, and whatever else occurs is one use I foresee as the whip comes down…
well then, forget the marine battery. It weighs ~50 lbs.
For your use cases, I just use a large capacity power bank. The problem with those cheap “UPS” power banks is that they aren’t true UPS. There are a few microseconds of no power when it switches and that’s all it takes for the cam to reboot resulting in cam requiring WiFi to reauthenticate.
Ok, I test-um.

…seems
I cycled it a couple times and all went well, old v2 chugged along without hiccup.
That’s a good performance. Have you seen them live, Antonionius? I have not.
Also, is the youngest guy one of their kids?
So, theoretically, starting at home, I could connect a v3 to my little UPS, let it authenticate, with SD card recording continuous, drive to a PFloyd concert, stick the magnet base on a metalhead sitting in the next row down, and bob’s-my-uncle, right?
Yes I went to a Division Bell Concert at the Oakland Coliseum in 1994 with my wife and 14 year old daughter. It was a super concert. Since I was still in the Navy at the time I was worried about my exposure to all the “second hand” clouds of funny smelling smoke.
They put on a really good show.
The young guy is Richard Wright’s son in law Guy Pratt.
My biggest regret not seeing them live as they are my favourite band of all times
Just an update:
Hi, what is the unit’s ‘switchover time’ (in milliseconds) as a UPS? I.e. the interval during which no power is supplied as the unit switches from AC to battery backup when AC power is lost. Thanks!
The switchover time is 0 miniseconds, which means no delay at all.
Thanks, Shanqiu
Connected two cam v2s and two cam v3s to UPS via the 4-port USB hub.
w/UPS fully charged:
Cycled AC power three times, cams unaffected, ran continuously without hiccup
w/UPS 60% discharged:
Same as above, unaffected

Hey, it came in handy to power-assist a mechanical hard drive in an external enclosure (a 5V 3A plug-in port in lieu of depending solely on the USB power you get with the data connection.) The external HD enclosure did not include a plug-in power supply and cable.
