Here in the UK the bayonet type fitting is the standard fitting made for UK houses, Unfortunately with a converting adapter to convert Edison screw to bayonet the length of the bulb and fitting look pretty ugly adds and extra inch to the entire setup. So I am leading the wishes for a bayonet fitting
