I bought two of the Wyze window indoor cameras mid of June 2026. And I have quite a few of the other Wyze V3 + V4 Cameras.
Comparing the outdoor V3+V4 with the window cameras I must say I am not very satisfied with the window cameras. They take soooo much longer to connect to the live stream compared to Cam V3+V4 when opening the App on my phone. Sometimes they do not connect at all, thus not showing the live stream.
The one window cam is nearly next to my internet router thus it cannot be a distance from the router issue. Since all the other cameras have no issue connecting it can also not be my internet connection speed.
Plus I have the suspicion that it also does not always record when it is suppose to record when there was a person walking by, but that I will still have to keep an eye on.
I haven’t noticed this. I don’t have any Cam v3s for comparison, but I do have several Cam v4s that also look out windows. My single Window Cam attached to a front door sidelight window connects as quickly and reliably as my other Cams, and it frequently captures events of small animals visiting the front porch, in addition to people, larger animals, and vehicles passing in the street. It’s using current production firmware 1.3.0.52.
Count the total number of IoT devices you have and check your router Specs. You may be reaching the maximum number of devices your router can handle and your newly added Window Cams may be getting the short end of the stick.
I have IR lights and Night Vision Off. My cameras looking through double pane windows are in darken rooms. My wife and I are empty nesters in a 4 bedroom house which makes it easy to place my cameras in rooms that will be dark at night. I do get some light refracting artifacts of my double pane windows.
My setup won’t be ideal for everyone, but I get satisfactory results for my needs. Very hard to steal my cameras and they are out of the weather. My oldest Wyze Cam v3 camera is 4.5 years old. The camera, power brick, power cord and SD card are still working.
