Wyze Video Cam - “Wrong QR Code” Problem

I really did not want to call because it always takes at least one hour To talk to tech-support. They are located in the Philippines.

Call dropped once. Spoke to the CSR for over one hour and she just had me do a factory reset which really messed things up. The doorbell cam was working fine except I just could not talk to people on my porch and they could not hear me. Everything else was just fine, the chime worked, it was notifying me, and it was recording.

When she had me do the factory reset obviously it took it off-line. I tried to add the device, probably five times but it would not accept the QR code for some reason. Kept saying “wrong QR code“ after several minutes of trying to connect. So it’s outside saying “ready to connect“ it’s hard water into my house and I don’t know what to do.

Can somebody please help? I spoke to the supervisor as well for about another hour. We tried another factory reset but it did not read the QR code. Currently the camera is not working since it’s off-line. My Wi-Fi is just fine as I have up to 15 cameras and they’re all working fine.

Can you specify which camera you’re having issues with? You mentioned doorbell a few times, but you’ve tagged the topic as “Wyze Cam Outdoor”.

Wyze Video Cam (Front Doorbell).

Doorbell v1/Doorbell V2/Doorbell Pro/Doorbell Duo?

Looks like it may be the Doorbell Pro. When doing the add a device again, does the chime install correctly? Are you choosing the Doorbell Pro on the add a device page?

And if it is the Doorbell Pro, looks like that setup process is all bluetooth so need more info as to where this qr code reading is coming into play.

If you aren’t completely sure what model it it, you can take a picture of it and post the picture here and we can identify it for you.

Just generic answers. Make sure phone and camera lens is very clean and lens not scratched. Double check all the info when you log into the setup camera. (router name and password. Proper case and spaces if any. I fought one for a while and it has several of the same symbols) Also may have to turn phone 90 degrees.

Back to original problem (no sound) maybe reboot app, or reinstall app on phone. Both has fixed things for me before.
