My thermostat seems to run twice in a row when cooling. One short run where it falsely gets to the set temperature in 5 minutes and then stops.A few minutes later the thermostat adjust back up to the correct external temperature. Followed by a much longer 25 minute run that cools the house down correctly to the set temp. Anyone run into this or have ideas on how to prevent this? It’s a lot of wasted energy on the first unnecessary start. I have confirm with a thermometer it’s definitely reading the temp wrong on the first start up.
After searching the Internet to see if other smart thermostats have a similar issue. I found recommendations to seal up the hole in the wall the wiring comes out of with plumbers putty. Seems to fixed the double run issue.
