Wyze Thermostat Clicking noise

Hello,
I have a very similar problem to Wyze Thermostat making clicking noise.
I ran a new wire to my Taco HVAC control board with R, W and C wire, such that the C wire is connected to “common”. I’ve verified that the voltage between R and C is 28VAC and W to C is 0. However, the wyze thermostat is just not booting up and is just clicking.
Is the issue overvoltage? Under supply? Does anyone know what my multimeter should be reading at various points?

I was able to solve this problem myself. I decided that the common wire I ran was probably not so common after all. It ended up being +28VAC and I had red and white reversed so the multimeter measured 28VAC even though it was all backwards.
