I really wish there were an option to keep Stories but still receive an individual notification for every event.
I recently upgraded my subscription specifically because I really liked Descriptive Alerts. Getting an individual notification with an AI description of what happened was genuinely useful to me. Unfortunately, since Descriptive Alerts were replaced by Stories, I have missed almost every important event that has happened around my house.
I have Stories set to All Notifications, but when multiple events are grouped into the same Story, I don’t necessarily get another notification as new events happen. The important event is often not the event that originally triggered the Story, so unless I happen to go back into the app and look through it, I don’t know it happened.
For me, this is a major step backward for a security camera system.
The previous NBD filter actually worked pretty well. It cut down on unnecessary notifications while I still received individual descriptive notifications for the events that mattered. I would much rather have that system than have events grouped together in a way that causes me to miss important activity.
Turning Stories off isn’t a solution either, because then I lose the Descriptive Alerts that were one of the main reasons I upgraded my subscription in the first place.
Please add an option such as:
Notify me for every event in a Story
People who like receiving fewer notifications could keep the current behavior, while those of us who use these cameras for security could choose to receive an individual descriptive notification for every event. The events could still be grouped into Stories in the app — grouping them for viewing doesn’t need to mean suppressing individual notifications.
I really liked Descriptive Alerts before this change, and I don’t want to give them up. But if the notification behavior doesn’t change soon, I’ll unfortunately have to downgrade my subscription because I’m paying for a feature that has become much less useful to me.
Please give us the choice between fewer Story notifications and individual descriptive event notifications.
