This is not your normal post and it may upset some people but for me it saved my grandchildren and I’m finally able to share some of the story.
My daughter kept feeling like something was wrong but the cameras never picked up anything strange, they were always just slightly off or unplugged? My daughter read that if you use an SD card the camera can still record!
This is how we’re caught him, the bad guy who was harming my 6 year old grandson. It’s a much longer and stranger story then even the police were ready to deal with but in the end he got 20plus years in prison and my family got help. No one believed it was real until the Wyze camera did exactly what they were designed to do, I wanted to share how grateful I am because he might never have been captured ( there were 4 children in the house, he chose only to pick on the one with autism, incredibly sad) you’re WYZE camera worked! he thought he won by unplugging them but they continued to record and they captured one of the strangest cases of child abused I ever knew of and though I wish it had never happened WYZE saved my family from a living hell.
I just wants so bad to share my gratitude for having a product that helped save a child and put the bad guy behind bars!
Sorry to hear about what happened. Most forums are full of the 20% of people that have issues so it is nice to hear from the other 80% from time to time. Glad they caught what they were supposed to.
Out of curiosity and if you don’t mind me asking, you said they were unplugged and continued recording, were they one of the battery cam models?
I am sorry to hear about what happened but glad you were able to get it figured out and taken care of. I will share your story with the team so they can see the good that results from their hard work also.
The corded cameras do not still work when unplugged, because they’d have no power to operate, even with an SD card in them. So I’m thinking you meant that the WiFi router was unplugged.
This statement by the OP led me to think the daughter’s cameras may recording only 12 second clips with a cool-down of 5 minutes before the next clip gets recorded.
“My daughter kept feeling like something was wrong but the cameras never picked up anything strange, they were always just slightly off”
I simply say this he thought he unplugged them. The cameras did not look like they were working. The lights were not on and yet the cameras caught over 15 minutes of video so I could care less about all this extra stuff. I’m telling you straight up these cameras worked when he thought they were off and yes, I believe they’re the Wi-Fi Jesus people I’m simply sharing a story that is amazing and somebody was caught doing something really bad so if you don’t mind go find someone else to pick on I’m leaving this conversation and I’m leaving you to live with you cause that’s enough of this.
Praise the Lord that the child abuser was caught with more than enough evidence for a 20-year sentence! This person will certainly get their just due while incarcerated. Inmates have a “special” way of dealing with child abusers.
Thanks for sharing your story and may your family live in peace!
God bless you and yours,

That’s all that matters - the rest of the discussion is just some of us geeks trying to figure out what was going wrong before, so you could potentially prevent it in the future, that’s all (and/or for reference by others to help prevent something from happening to someone else). Everyone is on your side here.
Agreed, it worked, that’s the important thing, and the details are largely inconsequential, you’re under no obligation to know why it worked or give any more details.
Your post is appreciated, its a great “win” all around.
I wasn’t picking on you just stating a fact that a wired camera won’t work if it’s not getting power from being plugged in. So obviously he didn’t successfully unplug it.
Not sure what State you live in but I’ve never heard of a child abuser getting 20 years and if he did great but just know he’ll be out in 10 or less due to half time credits. And child abusers are segregated with other child abusers and rarely in put in the main line, for their protection. But, sadly, the sentence everyone thinks criminals get is not what they actually do. In fact laws can change and many get out way earlier, even murderers, which by the way are released everyday from prisons in all States. Let that sink in, talk about no justice.
Why do you care? But because people need to understand the reality of our criminal justice system. Besides, she posted all that information that really wasn’t necessary either. So it should be expected to get a response about that information.
One thing I’ve noticed about you is that you always want to push things into an argument, even when you weren’t invited into the conversation.
A discussion or disagreement is not an argument. People will have different views than you, that’s how life works.
I see your response as basically kicking someone when they’re down for no reason. You don’t know the specifics of the situation and you don’t know what will happen in the future. Read the room, this isn’t the right place or time which OP already made pretty clear in a reply to you.
Like telling a person dying from a gunshot that “sucks that the guy will get off easy”.
You don’t have discussions or a simple disagreement, you argue. And you’ve done this with me for several years now. So maybe you should read the room. If there was a way to block your comments and not receive replies to my posts from you, I would do it.
You can do that for any forum member. Just click on their name and then select mute or ignore. Here is a short video showing how this is done. With that said, I agree with dave27’s comments in this thread. If you do not care for differing points of view, you may want to mute or ignore me as well.
Thank you! I’m internet shy as people pounce on your for everything from grammar at subject matter.
He was actually given 30 yrs mandatory with 20 he must serve in and 10 extended when he gets out and off he messed up when he’s out he faces additional time.
Wisconsin wasn’t messing with this one, it was so bizarre they could have made a tv show out of it! I’m just glad it’s over, my poor grandchildren are scared for life especially the autistic one, who can’t let it out of his head, .. it really truly is sad!
Thank God I live in an area that takes out serious and helps the other children with counseling!
