The robot vacuum needs to have a child/pet lock feature. My cat sits on it and will push the buttons and it’ll turn the vacuum on, and my toddler sees the buttons and will push them. My other robot vacuum has this feature and that’s a major plus for me to be able to lock the buttons.
How about something like this?
Good idea @TomG. A bit pricey and would need approval from the better half.
Ive had my vacuum for about 2 weeks and am enjoying it (especially the price).
Like you, I have had a pet accidentally knock the unit off its charger. Of course the vacuum came to life, dog started barking, better half had to investigate, etc, etc.
I have not done it yet but I’m thinking of connecting the vacuum to a “smart plug”.
Turn plug on before starting vacuum. Turn off plug when vacuum is recharged.
This adds some user overhead but would be child/pet safe.
If you are vacuuming on a schedule then the plug could be automated to turn on before vacuuming and off an hour or two after vacuuming.
This isn’t a perfect workaround but may help.
p.s. If your using Alexa this may be accomplished verbally.
