Wyze Lock Bolt auto-lock timer override

Hi Wyze Team,

I’ve noticed a frustrating issue with the Wyze Lock Bolt: the auto-lock timer doesn’t reset when re-entering via fingerprint or PIN code shortly after unlocking.

Example:
I unlock the door, step inside for a moment, then need to go back out. I scan my fingerprint again to re-unlock the door — but the original auto-lock timer is still running. Within seconds, the door locks again, sometimes while I’m mid-exit.

This makes the lock feel unresponsive to real-world use and creates delays or awkward situations.

Expected behavior:
Any fresh unlock action (fingerprint or PIN) should restart the auto-lock countdown as if it were a new unlock event.

Why this matters:

It’s common to go in and out quickly (grabbing something, helping someone in, etc.).

Being locked out or rushed by the timer is frustrating.

Most smart locks reset the timer with each unlock for a smoother experience.

Please consider this for a future firmware update. This simple fix would make the lock much more intuitive and user-friendly.

Thanks for your time and great work.

I understand. You’re right about the problem, but the wait isn’t very long. It’s only about 3-5 seconds. I think you can be patient and wait that long.

It isn’t about the wait it’s about the inconvenience. For example I will grab something from my car and return a use the fingerprint scanner, it beeps successfully, then I go to close the door right as the deadbolt comes out either slamming it against the frame or comes out as the door closes, showing up in the app as “door jammed”. So much easier to reset the timer via software.
