Wyze iPhone App showing the wrong IP for multiple devices

I tried searching for other posts talking about this issue, but I only found 1 old one that was closed and had no resolution.

I have multiple devices, cameras, outdoor plugs, etc, that show the wrong IP for the MAC address under Device Info. I have used the same subnet, 192.168.0.0/24, and SSID for years, so I have not recently changed this or anything.

I was looking at ARP on my router to correlate devices and found that the very first v3 Cam I looked at had a different IP mapped to the MAC on the app than what my router said. I looked at the other IP and it also had a MAC for a Wyze device. I found that the other Wyze device was an outdoor plug and it showed an even different IP from the ARP table for that MAC. That MAC happened to be a different vendor altogether, not Wyze.

So it appears that the Wyze app is holding onto previous IPs for some reason. I rebooted the v3 cam and it got a new IP that showed correctly with the correct MAC in the Wyze app and on my router.

In addition to just those 2 devices, every Wyze cam I checked has the wrong IP under device info. I don’t want to have to reboot every device to get the IPs to show up right.

I’m guessing this probably explains sometimes why a camera takes forever to load or never loads when they appear to be online, especially when I get a push notification but then go to view the camera and it doesn’t load. Probably might explain those times I tried to setup RTSP and it didn’t take the config over and over.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Now today, I have a camera that is offline in the app. Can’t view the live stream in the app, can’t reboot it, etc. The IP in the app is not the IP the camera has from DHCP. And the camera is actively sending notifications when a person is detected. I can also tap that notification and it will take me to the clip of the detection and I can watch it, but I cannot view the live stream of the camera and it just says it’s offline.

So, I’m not sure it’s 100% because the IP is wrong in the app that it’s offline, but it’s 100% the wrong IP and it’s still sending notifications.
