I think everyone is back ordered at the moment. IHealth, Amazon, Wyze, Walmart etc. But I imagine they are working to get more stock.
Before you know people will be running out of stores stealing thermometers like they are toilet paper
I’m not able to get the complete motion capture free for a month is there something that I need to do or what is affecting my ability to do that? Never mind. I see it’s for only one camera. Once again a press release without full details. Giving cams to small business owners is great. But they have to have WiFi access. Many don’t. So how many can actually take advantage of this awesome gesture? It would be interesting to know how many took advantage of this gesture. And I pray that none took advantage you for a free camera.
Where is my thermometer? ![]()

Hey @UserCustomerGwen, I understand the webcam firmware is mostly a one-off–but could an option be included to “zoom in” on a certain area of a view?
Gotta say that using the wyzecam as webcam for a long period of time, it starts freezing some frames, until the whole image is frozen. One needs to disconnect the camera and plug it back in so it restarts. Memory issues perhaps? Buffers locked? Lost pointers?.. well… I guess… what can one ask for a $20 USD camera.

Got the same thermometer, Xiaomi MIJIA Ihealth thermometer, for $18.99 last year… this is sad
I would be surprised if there were not more than a few issues. Considering the firmware was written with no beta testing and I would assume not much alpha testing it’s a miracle it even works. ![]()
But it’s well worth what you paid for it. Wait, ah, well you know what I mean… ![]()
F.Y.I. - Converting an existing WYZE cam to a webcam also works on Linux systems. Just follow the instructions for the Mac O/S. I converted one to use on Ubuntu 1`8.04, and it works great.
So with your way of thinking if someone gives you a car and it doesn’t run it’s a good value?
@paindonthurt, I would recommend checking with the support team for the CMC issue. Though I’m not sure if you were still wanting me to respond to that given you saying never mind on this one. I apologize if I’ve given an unwanted response.
@holocron, I’ll share your request with the team! But I haven’t heard of plans to further update that firmware.
No worries I never mind hearing from you.

Finally got around to the webcam firmware install. Easy Peasy and it’s working great.
Thanks for doing this Wyze—it’s very helpful.
Same with me. Monday. Can’t wait.
Downloading the firmware and will test the webcam. I figured even if I don’t know anyone personally to talk to through the webcam there may be some nursing homes, etc that residents have no one to talk to that I can drop in on and talk with from time to time. Of course I’ll probably mess something up with the cam knowing me. lol
I should have known better. Now I totally destroyed the cam? The light is flashing for 5 minutes now. ![]()
After properly flashed with the webcam firmware, the V2 will continuously blink in what looks like (to my eyes) a light blue color.
Cannot believe the thermometer is already here!
Did a thorough disinfecting of the shipping box before opening.
Note, Lysol spray total erases the shipping label!
Works as advertised!
Thanks Wyze, I appreciate this GREATLY!
Well I got the webcam to work on YouTube as well for anyone who is more used to YouTube or just likes to do livestreams and not video chatting
My Ihealth PT3 arrived today, very fast shipping. So glad it worked as after Lysol outside the box wipes away any of the shipping info. Gotta remember to take photos of these labels next time before spraying. Thx Wyze…
When I used Amazon Pay, I had to use Edge browser…Chrome opened a window but just sat there forever for me.
