Wyze Cams (2 of 8) Suddenly Blaring Sirens

Without selecting the option, two of my V3 cams suddenly kicks off the sirens when motion is detected. I have checked all the settings, and nothing shows me that option is selected. I know I didn’t select it either. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

When you say “alarm”, are you talking about the camera’s Siren feature, or are you perhaps viewing your cameras with Echo Show and experiencing some other noise from them?

Yes, sorry.

No apology is necessary, but I don’t understand the answer. I asked an “either/or” type of question, so the “yes” doesn’t really make sense without additional detail.

Yes, it is the sirens that are going off. I can go back and amend it.

Thanks for the clarification. That helps some. I saw your post about your Bulb Colors, too, and about how you’ve checked the app for Automations regarding that issue. In this topic you wrote this:

In that topic you wrote this:

That makes me wonder if you’ve shared any of these devices via the app and if the person with shared access on a different Wyze account may have set up any Automations that might be causing this behavior.

What kinds of troubleshooting have you attempted, and what did Support say when you contacted them?

I didn’t think about that. Will check her phone.

I haven’t asked Support yet. I thought I’d give the forums a try first.

I’d definitely do that if someone else has shared access. That might be the issue with the bulbs, as well.

CRAP. What is wrong with me today. I need to go amend that one too. THANKS!

I have days.

After you get a chance to find out whether another account is doing this, please post an update. I’m trying to think of what else might be going on, but that’s probably the next thing I’d explore.

Will do, but she doesn’t get home until 2morrow. Will check then. Thanks for your help!

For what it’s worth, my V2 camera did this the other day. The siren came on randomly and I was only able to stop it by de-energizing the camera. I left it off for a few weeks, and the next time I turned it on, there was no siren.

For “a few weeks”? WOW. Well, I’m up for anything at this point. THANKS!

She did not have any setting set for the sirens.

When is the last time you restarted the cameras? I don’t own any regular Cam v3s, but my other Wyze Cams (Cam Pan v3, Cam v4, Cam OG, etc.) have Restart and Reset Services options on the main Settings screen. If those options are available to you, then have you tried any of those?

If this is still happening and nobody with access to the cameras is triggering them manually or with any kind of Automation, then I’d be inclined to factory reset the cameras and set them up as new unless you’ve found another solution to the problem.

I wasn’t proposing leaving the camera off for weeks as a solution. I was simply stating that the problem randomly went away for me without any action on my part. (I don’t use my camera often, so it’s only turned on once every few weeks.)
