Welcome to the forum, that is not good news. I only have one V3 Pro and I did not do the update. Maybe (Someday) WYZE will come up with a fix ?
I have 21 Wyze cameras. They all freeze up from time to time. Iâve had to reset many. 5 cameras I had to replace (13 months oldâŚconveniently out of warrantee). YesâŚIâm beyond pissed!!!
I have 14 cams, only one V3 PRO. The rest are V3, V4 and some 4.5 year old WCO v1 cams. One of the V3 cams is only good for close up viewing so I call it OOFO (Out of Focus) I just put it in my garage to see if I remembered to close the door.
Well, my wyze3 cameras stopped working. I tried ALL troubleshooting options.
V3 or V3 Pro cams? All of my V3 cams work, some are 3.5-4 years old.
Additional Information.
When I tried to flash firmware, LED has emit purple for a moment (about a few second),
but return red soon. After over 5minutes. it seems not to be done.
So, I unplug and recognize to PC. The SD card is file system crushed. this phenomenon is every time.
I tried to another (older firmware), but it cause same result.
in this incident, It may be serious trouble in this firmware or hardware.

Same issue, nothing fixes it. So, I assume we are all out of luck and the only option is to toss the old camera and buy a new one. Nice!
I wouldnât buy a new V3 Pro, it would want you to update to the Killer firmware. Get a V4, they cost less and work just as good as or better than the V3 Pro. I have both The V3 Pro and the V4.
Good advice. I liked the V3 but my other V3 keeps saying 'Update, Update. I canceled and said donât remind me. I will take a look at the V4. I wonder how many thousands of V3âs are now junk. Good way to get us to buy new cameraâs
My V3 Pro works just fine, I have the firmware auto update turned off on all cameras and I did not update the Pro when I read what a mess the firmware created to others.
I think this is key. I do this where possible, as well.
Doesnât look good for Wyze when people have to do this to protect themselves.
My v3Proâs updated without issues a week ago. All has been well since. Suddenly, today around 6:30 p.m. edst, 1 of the v3Proâs stopped connecting and began displaying error code 3005. Regardless of what I tried, I have not been able to reconnect and get past the code 3005. I have not tried a factory reset or flashing an earler firmware version. A second updated v3Pro is still performing normally.
At this point, I am torn as to what my next steps should be. In the meantime, I replaced the cam with a v4 but prefer to have the v3Pro back in service. Do I wait until the issues with this update firmware are resolved or should I try to flash an earlier firmware version.
All advice and comments are welcomed.
I tried all recovery option, but it can not recovery.
Please contact Wyse support, it may be apply guarantee. (replace or return)
I bought Amazon.co.jp (not Authorized store), but Amazon.co.jp accept return. (1 year guarantee)
I will buy Wyse Cam V3 again, because it is available to buy at amazon.co.jp.
If you replace/buy another product, it is recomended Wyse Cam v4. cheap &
Excellent functionality.
Anyway Iâm tired on this incident.

You brick our out of warranty cameras, which renders them useless. Then you say âsorry, out of warrantyâ. Can you see why buyers are pissed!!! And youâre no longer a trusted source!
Hopefully, I am not going to jinx myself, but I am the recipient of unexpected luck. After being disconnected overnight. I turned my v3Pro on this morning and turns out it has not been bricked from the update. It is operating normally and I am dumbfounded based on yesterdayâs failure.
I couldnât understand the failure to begin with since it operated for over a week with the update and my other updated v3Proâs stayed online and continue to work normally. So as I stated at the start, I hope I am not jinxing myself. Iâll leave the replacement v4 up for awhile before switching back to the v3Pro or maybe not press my luck and leave things as they are.
Hard to believe the v3Pro is out-of-stock on Wyze and on Amazon more than twice the price I originally paid (tariff impact?? or supply and demand effect??).
Of course they are out off stock, they just killed a bunch of them off with the March 2025 firmware. Move on to the V4 until they kill that with a firmware in the near future.
I have four WCO v1 cams that have not worked correctly (Cooldown Setting) since the November 6 2023 firmware update.
