I’m using Wyze cams on my boat, The Pan v3 seems to require special power. How can I connect these to my 12 volt system? (tried using a USB adapter for a car: 5v/3 amp, but no luck).
Search Amazon for
12 volt to 5 volt converter micro-usb
Unless it’s not micro-USB, then just change connector type on your search.
I have used many of these on V2’s and V3’s

I use these and connect directly to the 12V battery. There are less expensive alternatives, but you need to make sure each USB-A port supplies at least 12V/2A. Also, be aware that adding power cord extensions will rob volts resulting in underpower.
Can you post a link to the adapter you are using?
It was probably a smartphone charger and not a power supply.
@richardblondin01 Also I found out in my early days of testing a Wyze cam on a 12 to 5 volt converter in a old truck that it would kill the battery in a week if truck wasn’t started 
you may want to add a solar panel if boat battery isn’t maintained by charger or starting.
