Can Wyze control a group of light bulbs (e.g. 3 light bulbs together as a group turn on and off at the same time). Thanks.

I think so, demonstrated in their promotional video.

I’m assuming that the user who did this was using something like ifttt. I’d really prefer to have as little external server involvement as possible.

The X-10 devices transmitted commands directly to each other. That’s kind of limiting. What I’d really like is to be able to host my own intranet server to mediate between sensor reports, schedules, and commands to devices such as lights or smart outlets.

I’d probably cave and use ifttt if absolutely necessary, but I don’t like the security implications.

If you’re looking for a self-hosted solution you should check out Home Assistant ([https://www.home-assistant.io/](https://www.home-assistant.io/)). It’s a locally-hosted server that can run on a $35 Raspberry Pi or inside a virtual machine, and it can send/receive events via API just like IFTTT. Definitely not something you can just throw together in an evening, but if you’re trying to integrate local ZigBee/Zwave/Bluetooth smart devices with internet-connected WiFi smart devices it’s one of the best solutions.

I tinkered with it and I could probably replace IFTTT with it at this point, but I don’t have the time to invest right now.

Very cool. It’s an open source, python-based project with what appears to be a pretty good following!
I’ve got some home automation going with my adaptation of a very old Perl-based system called Mister Home on a Linux laptop. Switching to Home Assistant seems like a more modern, better supported alternative. (Or just learn the Wyze API and add it to my Perl-based server.)

Thanks for the pointer!

Does this Home Assistant support lights and led strips that are used with the Magic Home Pro app?

Looks like it may:

Home Assistant has “components” that provide integration with third party devices. I guess not all components have the same level of functionality, but you can check the components section to see what’s supported and what may not work yet.
