I have probably 40 wyze devices registered to my account and I’m I currently troubleshooting some (literally half of them). Support suggested I do a firmware update on my devices so I went to the account screen, then firmware updates. The screen says “There are no devices linked to this account”. My devices screen is chock full, and my wallet is slightly more empty, and my patience is wearing thin.
Does anyone have a solution? I’ve tried dozens of logs to fix faulty devices and the android app. Not one has been addressed since I started acquiring devices in 2022. I’ve had a subscription forever for plus unlimited and home monitoring but this may be the last month wyze takes another dollar from me.
My initial thought is an error with the local profile and/or corrupt cache data. When did you last clear either of the caches?
This is how I tend to clear my Wyze app caches on Android (click/tap to expand):
- Clear the in-app cache: From the Wyze app’s home screen, navigate to Account ➜ App Settings ➜ Cache File Size ➜ Clear.
- Swipe the Wyze app out of the running Android apps.
- Long-press on the Wyze app’s launcher icon (on the phone’s home screen or wherever you tap to initially open the app) and then tap App info in the pop-up menu.
- Tap Force stop on the App info screen (may need to tap OK to confirm) and then tap Storage & cache.
- Tap Clear cache on the Storage screen.
- Back up one screen (back to App info) and then tap Open to re-launch the Wyze app.
Note: I don’t know what the options would be for modifying these steps on iOS since I don’t use that platform. If using iOS/iPadOS, you should be able to clear the in-app cache with Step 1, and that may help.
Sometimes I stop at just clearing the in-app cache, and often that’s sufficient, but occasionally I’ll clear the OS-level app cache, too.
If that doesn’t take care of it, then I’d consider trying to pull a fresh copy of the profile from Wyze’s servers (requires login).
This is how I would get a clean copy of my account profile/settings on Android (click/tap to expand):
- Clear the in-app cache: From the Wyze app’s home screen, navigate to Account ➜ App Settings ➜ Cache File Size ➜ Clear.
- Navigate back one screen to Account and tap Log Out at the bottom.
- Tap Clear cache and Clear storage on the Storage screen.
- Back up one screen (back to App info) and then tap Open and proceed to log back into your Wyze account/app. (Optionally reboot the phone at this step for good measure and then launch the Wyze app after the fresh boot instead of relaunching it immediately from this screen.)
Note: I don’t know what the options would be for modifying these steps on iOS since I don’t use that platform.
If that still doesn’t populate Account ➜ Firmware Update with your list of devices, then I’d probably consider the nuclear option: uninstall the Wyze app from the mobile device, reboot the mobile device, install the Wyze app from Google Play Store, reboot the mobile device, launch the Wyze app and authenticate.
You should also be able to check and update your devices’ firmware individually from each device’s Device Info screen in Settings, but that gets really tedious with a lot of devices.
Did you check to insure you had a good Wifi or Cell service? (Probably) not the issue.
We have seen this before over the years. Not often, but does occur.
This is just to insure (warm and fuzzy) that your devices are still there. I would do what @crease suggest.
Of course if you can find another/different phone, try it. I think if you do, you will discover your devices are there, and still connected in the Wyze servers and your local network.
I’m seeing this on my account. I uninstalled/reinstalled app. Tried different networks. Need to try different device.
Been happening for a week or so?
