Would love the ability to designate which tab gets the privilege of owning my Default View designation! HMS would be my first choice!

Put a short cut on your phone for the HMS. That what I do. Works on Android.
Unfortunately, the Wyze HMS Widget varies in size depending on the phone. On Android 11 Moto, for example, it is a massive 3x3 block for a 2x2 button that takes up half the real estate available.
When Wyze gets better Widgets, perhaps it will be beneficial.
