Wyze app 3.21 - Released 8/31/2026

Hot fix update Android: 3.21.1.962 has fixed the problem on the Favorites screen,

Wyze app 3.21 Hotfix - Released 9/3/2026 - Wyze News - Wyze Forum

Hi TerryL,

Thank you for the information.
In regards to obtaining the hotfix, There is no update through Google Play Store,

Is there another area/location to download the hotfix?

Thank you :+1:

Mine updated automatically. Did you check your version to see if it has already updated?

Not here, still at build 3.21.0 (955)
If Google Play is the only way to update it,
then I am going to be waiting a while for the update.

When Wyze releases updates, most, not all take a while to show up on Google Play updates.

I am still waiting for the V3 firmware update
4.36.17.10 (August 11, 2026)

waiting almost a month already

I uninstalled/reinstalled and got 3.21.1.962. Maybe try that.

If it doesn’t work post in Wyze app 3.21 Hotfix - Released 9/3/2026 - Wyze News - Wyze Forum and ask @WyzeJasonJ how you can get it.

Thank you I will give it a try by uninstalling and reinstalling see if that does it for me too.

:+1:

Hi TerryL

I just uninstlled it and re-installed the app
It’s still the same version/build number
Apparently the Fix/patch did not replicated to all their distribution servers.

I am going to wait for the patch to replicate to their Wyze/Googles distribution servers , as it gets tiring chasing “rabbits”, sort to say…

I am still a bit burnt out from what I had to deal with on the NEW model OG cams, over the last two months, spent way too much time, wasted, only to end up returning them, and buying a V4. which didn’t have the issue the NEW model OG cams had.

:+1:

You have definitely experienced
more pain than I have

I only have about 5 years of pain. :joy:
I’m still a newbie in pain level acceptance

urzzz-jabba-droid-ripped

Looked at the app today, 8 Sept @ 10am, & I am seeing v3.21.1 (2).

You guys must live closer to the Wyze Distribution Servers :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
I still haven’t received the update…

App build is the same on both of my Andriod devices..
And checked for Google Play updates on both devices a few times today, hoping the Hot Fix would be received.

Hi Known1,

My carrier is AT&T, but a persons cell carrier have no relevance to not receiving the updates ( As I still haven’t received the V3 cam’s most recent firmware that was released weeks ago for my V3 cam’s)

I do understand why any updates or patches take time to show up, since Wyze has as reported online, 20 Million Wyze devices ( as of 2022 so that number is higher now - probably 25 million or more)

To distributed patches/updates to 20++ million devices, takes weeks, if not in some cases months, to fully distribute to users/devices.

I had tried uninstalling, and reinstalling the Wyze App, as TerryL suggested a few days back, and the Google Play store still has the same version that I already have on my phones.

( I would have to check every day to see if the latest version with the patch included already, is available on Google Play, but if the App with patch already built in, is available, the Patch by itself should also be available to download/update existing users.)

Overall the best I can do is to wait for the patch to show up on Google Play…since it takes days and weeks for Wyze to rollout patches/updates to 20+ million devices.

Side Note: Google Play has had about 6 updates for other apps on my phone, so Google Play, and app updating works for all the other apps on my phones, it us just that Wyze App update has not fully distributed on all the Google Play update servers.

I just re-checked Wyze’s firmware update info page regarding the latest V3 firmware, not yet being received on the few V3’s I have left.

I missed their notes under the August 11th Firmware release
This is why I haven’t received the latest firmware release

Quoted form the Firmware page
“”“” Note: We are doing a gradual release for this firmware over the next few weeks. If you do not have this firmware version yet, don’t worry! You’ll receive it later.

Note: This release has been paused. A new version will be released soon.

Google Play updates are different than WYZE firmware updates.
“”“”"
Yes, I do understand the difference, or I should say, the difference between Google play, and firmware updates/ firmware releases, and how they are released.
(former IT worker for 20+ years)

Sometimes the Wyze updates are received sooner, or I should say, closer their actual news release about an update, but many times over the years, the wait is days, or sometimes weeks

As I was mentioning before, for Wyze to roll out updates to 20-25 million devices
cant take quite a bit of time…so I have no choice but to be patient.

Yes Thanks,
I am well aware were the Wyze, or any other app comes from, anyone who has an Android device knows this…basic 101 owning an android device, or Android TV box, or Android TV.

overall it’s not rocket science…

Maybe you missed what I had originally posted,
I am waiting for the Wyze recent “Hot Fix” that was released days ago.

There is nothing wrong with my devices, or receiving Google Play Updates for all my other apps on my Android devices, I received multiple updates to other apps, 3x over the last 3 days from Google Play, and None of those updates, were Wyze updates, they were for all other apps, or the Google Apps on my android devices, phones, tv’s etc.

Overall it’s normal process for any Wyze app releases, or updates, to take time for the 22 million users/devices to be received. same goes for the firmware updates.

Just because Wyze annouces an App update, or firmware update, doesn’t mean everyone would have immediate access to it.

Just like their firmware releases, Wyze actually rolls them out gradually, and in batches, as Wyze mentions this often.

They don’t release it, and then the 22 million uses/devices have instant access.

That’s why I said previously,
I don’t have no problem in being patient for the recent Wyze App hot fix to be received. As much as their recently introduced bug, is annoying, I will wait for the release/hot fix to arrive.

As I type this, on my PC, my Android phone just received another batch of app updates, 4 today, none of them are Wyze, All are Google app updates.

Hi @Known1

I see what you see on a PC Browser Google Playstore.

But my phone Google Playstore shows 3.21.1.962:

I previously suggested to @compserv111

As I mentioned prior posts, my Google Play updates are working perfectly fine, as I have received over the last 4-5 days, at least 10+ app patches/updates to either Google apps, or the apps I have installed on my android devices. Just NOT any Wyze updates.

So that points to Wyze specific matter

It wouldn’t be the 1st time this has happened, where users have to wait a while to receive the Wyze update/patches etc

Yes, I totally understand
Wyze pushes to 22+ million in regards to Firmware,
App updates would be Google Play

Both companies, have regional distribution servers ( CDN’s) , that hand out their updates to users

Google of course has much bigger distribution infrastructure than Wyze does, and can handle many more users, than Wyze can.
But overall, the IT Folks at both companies have to manage their distribution servers, loads, demands etc.

I just asked the question to Google AI
If Wyze app hot fix was pulled

The Hot Fix was not pulled from distribution

Here is Google AI results to the question

Overall, as much as the App bug is annoying,
I am not going to drive myself nuts waiting for the Wyze patch/hot fix to arrive,
as it will eventually arrive.

As has all the other Wyze patches/updates have over the years.

It’s only been 8 days since the release
And it can take weeks
for users to finally receive the updates

Most users would not receive the update instantly.

I couldn’t disagree more. Meaning, most get Google Play application updates within 48-hours or less. With that said, you’re entitled to your own wrong opinion.

I love proving those Wyze Community Forum Groupies
wrong Again! :joy:

Facts:
Google Play Update Schedule

How long does a Google Play update take?

AI Overview

An app update on the Google Play Store typically takes between 1 hour and 7 days to go live, depending on whether it requires a manual review.

Update Timelines

 • Routine app updates: Usually take a few hours (1 to 24 hours) if the automated checks pass quickly.
 • New apps or flagged updates: Can take 3 to 7 days (or longer) if a manual human review is triggered by Google.
 • Store listing changes: Text or graphic changes in the store metadata usually update within 15 to 30 minutes

Factors Affecting Speed

 • Developer account status: Established accounts with a good history often see faster rollouts than brand-new developer accounts

 • App permissions and complexity: Apps requesting sensitive permissions, handling health data, or undergoing major code changes face deeper security reviews.

 • Rollout settings: If you choose a staged rollout (e.g., releasing to 10% of users first), it will take longer to reach your total user base.

:joy:

Oh, and funny thing is,
Today I received ANOTHER 8 Google App updates,
that were just received and downloaded.

That is on TOP of the 10+ over the last 4-5 days
And NONE of them
Were Wyze Updates

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I was patiently waiting for the “But but but” response back

I will continue my gloating, since I had proven most users, do not receive Google Play updates as you say, “within max of 48 or less” of release by the software company, or by Google itself, as they screen releases, some less, some much more, before release.

As there are MANY factors that go into “when” a end user receives and update through Google Play.

I know its hard for some to admit when they were wrong.
Dont they call that, “The Nile” or something like that ? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

In regards to the fact you mentioned reliance on Google AI, or any AI, as being something not to trust, Yes, I don’t trust AI, but not for the reasons you bring up.

I don’t trust AI, for what it can do, in regards to hacking on it’s own, and also because hackers area already using AI, to develop their security threats/hacks, making them extremely efficient, some even morph themselves as they spread. In fact AI is now identifying security holes in all types of Apps and Operating systems, hardware etc, that Humans miss…So much so, they had to stop the AI, from running these scans and hold back the results it had found…and keep the info secrete until the patches can be developed and applied, all across the IT industry software & hardware segments.

Overall on this one, I was right, regarding Google Play software release timelines…

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

your spinning it around,
The previous posts were about what you said about Google Play, and how everyone receives the Google Play updates within 48 max, this wasn’t about Why Wyze hot fix is still not received.

And I had shown that you were wrong on the “48 hours max or less”.

De Nile
:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Why not post the question if 3.21.1 (962) was pulled on
Wyze’s web site where the initial info about the release was posted..

And Wyze support would respond back…

I will keep my response to all your words ( but but but’s)
Simple!

You started off with this entire blob
With saying “everyone else got the update”
It must be something with your system

Then went on to say “Everyone receives Google updates with a MAX of 48 hours, most being less”

That is ALSO wrong information you have given.

“”"
I believe this is where the confusion comes in. It IS NOT normal for WYZE application updates to take as long as it is taking for you to get the application hot fix. I got it the same day as did every other android user that watches this thread.
For which I proved you were wrong, in saying
Based upon Google’s Play’s own release time frames, for update and time schedules that are released to ender users.

To actually be either hours or many days ( over a week)

Nothing is going to change the fact that what you stated was wrong information,
on Google Play release process and time schedules.

You can bang on your drum all day
But it wont change the actual facts

As it is also stated ON Google’s Support Forums

Just WOW
I quoted YOUR own words /post
And you don’t remember them?

And apparently you do not know how to search for your OWN words
On top of the fact, you are calling me a liar, saying You didn’t say what you said
so that means you are insisting I am lying

Here are your OWN words

Which, like I said, was wrong information you were providing/posting, as Google states on its own web site, updates can actually take as much as 7 days OR MORE to be received by end users

your sailing deep down the “De Nile” river

Which is it, You say everyone on the forum received the update,
They say,

You going to drive people nuts!
