I bought a new router so cameras don’t connect now. I did not have an sd card. It keeps flashing blue and red. I tried holding the setup button in when plugging it back in to reset it and still keeps with the blue and red flashing. I deleted the camera from my app also before trying to add it back.
Did you set the new router to use the same network name and password? Flashing red and blue means it is trying to connect to the wifi. As long as you have it configured with the same name and password and ensure WPA2 is the encryption type, it should reconnect fine.
Since you deleted it from the app, once it does reconnect, it will probably factory reset and you’ll have to re-add it, but that’s pretty simple.
No, I did not name it the same. I tried changing it back to the old name but did not do anything.
As @Dave indicated, if you replace your router, keeping the same SSID and Password allows the Cameras and devices to connect. However, the SSID and Password are case sensitive, so you need to make the information exactly the same.
Also, make sure you don’t have WPA3 set, in the past, Wyze did not support WPA3 encryption. WPA2 should be selected.
Pressing and holding the setup button to Factory reset the camera is not immediate, you need to hold it for at least 6 seconds.
Here is a Video on resetting the Camera, notice how long you need to hold the setup button.

The router is set at WPA/WPA2 PSK and I have held that reset button down for more than 6 seconds and it still doesn’t reset. I can tell the button is going down as well. When I unplug it and then plug it back in, it is red for a few seconds, then you hear a click, and then it goes back to the red/blue flashing.
I’m pretty sure they meant to type “dave27”.
But great to see one of the original forum users here. ![]()

Your setup button may have corroded, sometimes pressing it hard with a pointed (but not sharp) object can help. But factory reset on some of my cams can take like 15+ seconds. Pushing the button once and letting go should put it into setup mode.
But if it isn’t connecting, you have some other issue with the new router so it would make more sense to focus on that.
Double check that your network name and password are exactly the same (both are case sensitive). Also set it to WPA2 only (you don’t need or want regular WPA).
Is it possible the new router just isn’t as strong as the old one and the signal isn’t reaching the cam well? Or maybe it is in a different place etc.
Are you able to try a different power adapter and power cable from another camera?
Could be the adapter or cable went bad as you are trying setup your new router.
I was able to get my other camera to reset and connect to the new router but still can’t get this one to stop the red/blue flashing.
If it is flashing red/blue and you can’t get the setup button to work your only choice to get it back online is set up your new wifi exactly how your old one was. If your router supports guest network, you could try setting that up with the old information long enough for the camera to connect. Hopefully it will receive the info that it has been deleted from the app which will put it into “ready to connect” mode and you can then quickly set it up on the new network.
