Wyce pan cam v4 power and wifi

OK I got myself a pancam v4 wow the clearity. Thats where the good ends. A few questions. I replaced an old pancam v3 and added an adaptor to convert the cord to a usb-c now when the spotlight comes on it reboots. I called and asked your tec support and you said it would be OK. So if it’s not what extension should I buy. Second question I didnt have wifi issues with the old camera but this one always shows week signal. I have my router shown below (photo shows distance). And I have a great router. What is the issue here. Power once again. Thanks in advance

How long is your USB cable? I’m guessing it was at the fringe of how far USB can supply power and the adapter (and its extra resistance) pushed it over the edge. The v4 may also just be a bit more sensitive since it has both the spotlight and motor, both of which can cause a voltage sag.

Upgrading the wall transformer to the largest you can get (at least 3 amp, maybe even 3.2 or 3.4 if you can find one cheap) might be enough but in reality, if your USB cable is more than 15 to 20 feet, you probably want a better solution for longevity of the cam and ensuring you don’t run into other glitches.

My second guess is that your cam is now connected to 5ghz wifi which doesn’t travel through walls as well as 2.4. If you aren’t having issues, then a weak 5ghz signal can actually be better than a strong 2.4 one, but if you are seeing issues, try forcing it onto 2.4ghz (which is what the Panv3 used).
