Our municipality has gone from close to zero deer 15 years ago to over 100 on our urban streets. Our neighbours have had to add 6 foot plus fences to the front of properties breaking local byelaws to keep deer out of their front yards.
The number of deer vehicle accidents is increasing with injury/death to deer and damage sometime significant to vehicles ($2000-$10000+); and some residents are having to build $5000 front fences to keep deer out of their yards. Pets have been hurt and killed.
If Wyze Cam could clearly identify deer walking down the street or on the property this could help substantially with the inoculation program to reduce the number of deer. The deer need to be inoculated annually as the vaccination only lasts one year.
Some of the deer have trackers on them, and the municipality puts out cameras to help identify where they are. Wyze cams might be able to substantively help in this tracking process due to their reasonable cost, and possibly if a transaction record could be sent that could be added to an inventory identifying when the deer past a specific locations.
If I can get a clear identification of deer with time of day, and a 10 second snapshot, we might even be able to indicate deer that are tagged and the colour of their neck tags which helped to identify them and whether they’ve been previously inoculated.
As you may know there are probably hundreds, if not, thousands of towns and cities getting overrun by deer across North America, etc.
For consideration
The same thing could be done for bears, cougars, etc., in the city
All we need to do is send a transaction record to a shared Google spreadsheet which the municipality could then access
It could potentially even identify the GPS coordinates to help map where they are
This could help to reduce deer injuries as well as vehicle damage, as well as expense to homeowners having to build fences.
I do have Cam Unlimited Pro. I did not complete the automation as I suspect this Trigger may only appear if you’ve paid the money💵.
I’m not sure if this helps but I’m able to use just Alexa for the trigger. While creating the routine I select Smart Home and my V4. I’m presented with the following screen:
Not sure if you are already aware but Wyze and Alexa have been broken for Canadian Amazon accounts. You need an Amazon US account to have them working.
