I was previously able to make 2x2 shortcut widgets, but now I’m only able to make it 3x3.

Also, can you make a 1x1 widget with only text? What’s the use of the star icon?

There should also be 1 × 1 widget options. If I want to trigger a rule with a tap on my device’s home screen, I don’t need that to take up 2 x 2 or more in screen real estate.

Android widgets enhancements

I’d like to make a widget request for Android. I like that they are an option but if they’re just linking to a device, they’re much too large. Also, it would be nice for things that are able to be toggled to have a widget do that. For example, lights or lock. It would be convenient to be able to tap the widget and toggle that device. As with any Wishlist topic, you can visit those to click or tap the Vote button above the initial post and share your ideas and use cases in the comments to show your support for the product and feature request/suggestions that are important to you.

If your widgets issue began immediately after the 3.11.0.758 app release, then that one was supposed to deliver at least one widget enhancement:
