Why are person detections recording then auto deleting?

Why are person detections recording then auto-deleting?
I have started to notice I will get a text saying person detection on one of my cameras, and will go see it live recording and the person walking by in the live video. Then I will go to the events tab to look for the recorded video and its not there. Its not even under just motion. The recording is just gone. Does anyone know why this is happening and has this happened to anyone else.

Remove all filters so that all events are shown for troubleshooting. I bet you are getting the in app notification, but whatever filters are enabled in the event tab is “hiding” the event clip from view. In the event tab, click the funnel in the upper right, then click clear all. Once you see that your videos are back, then reapply your filters as needed.

It still wasn’t there.
The odd thing is, it did send the alert a person detected, so its very strange it undid that and didn’t even save the file at all.

In app notifications are triggered from cloud events, and the person tagging doesn’t happen untill an event is uploaded and analysed in the cloud. So to get your person detection notification, there had to of been a cloud event. Can you post a screen shot of your event tab?

That can’t be true since when I get an alert like a person detection if I go to the camera it’s from the event is still live. When I looked at it the first time the event was like 45 seconds when it was live but now its just like 24. My guess is it cut off the part from the start where the person walked through and just kept the end where they already passed through.

When an event is still uploading and you try and visit the event, it will push you to the live view until the motion ends and the clip is fully uploaded. Then it will load the event clip. Photo of your event tab?

@Dave24, you are not imagining this.

I am in the process of a 14 day data log to quantify the effectiveness of CamPlus, Smart AI, and push notifications on 12 installed cams after the newest AI and all updates. I currently have 8 days logged.

Since 07/01, I have received 12 individual notifications for Smart AI events on multiple cams for which there are no corresponding event videos in the events tab. They aren’t there with all filters off or filters on for the type of AI specified in the push notification. They don’t exist.

Yeah this has also been happening to me since the last firmware update. It makes no sense I see the live event happening with it tagged as a person, then after its over, it just vanishes.

I’m not sure of when these disappeared as I never watched them when they originally notified.

If you could, when this happens, please submit a log associated with the camera that had the event then give me the log number, date, time, and timezone this happened in so I can have the team check what is going on.

@WyzeJasonJ, I am not sure how far back cam logs cover. Hopefully the information you need will be contained in these logs. I have logged 17 missing event videos on 5 CamPlus V3 running current firmware between 2022-07-01 and 2022-07-07:

Welcome to the User Community Forum @daveahood!

As @WyzeJasonJ requested above, when this occurs:

  1. Verify that you have all your filters in the Events page set to show that type of AI Event on that cam. (To be sure it is not a filter setting causing it to not show in the history)
  2. Document the date, time, Time Zone, and text of the notification received.
  3. Submit a cam log for that cam in Settings → Wyze Support.
  4. Reply to Jason’s post above and provide that information in your post.

Hope they fix it soon. Sends me notifications open app and there gone . Doesn’t matter what sound movement or people.

@daveahood, please make sure to double check your events tab filters (funnel) aren’t the culprit.

This makes me suspect a filter issue.

If ALL your notified event videos are missing, it is probably a filter that needs turned on using the Filter Funnel settings or the Quick Filter Buttons at the top. Blue is On (show) grey is Off. All filters off should show absolutely everything.

If it is happening on one specific cam only, it is probably the filter for that cam (Funnel or Cameras button at the top)

If however it is random videos every so often that should be there based on the filters you have selected, it might be because of this issue.

Once you verify your filters, if you do catch it happening, they have requested logs as soon after it happens as possible along with the notification specifics listed above.

This is still happening. I get an alert of detection of someone on the cam, and not showing up WTF
Fix this

When is this update being pushed out, its still doing this. Its been going on for a month now
