Good position to be able to see his or her kingdom, and good defensive location.
(you do know that the cat owns the home and you are there to serve them - right?)
Cats do whatever they want whether they’re alone or if their human servants are there.
My cats love to be on top of our fridge. They alternate trying to claim whose spot it is. Sometimes they even sleep there. Eventually, we gave in and put a soft kitty bed up there for them to lay on since they were going to stay there anyway.
Yep, great spot to see everything and feel they’ll be able to see any threats early on (the other cats sneaking up on them).
That’s a strong argument for built in cabinets.
