I need to extend the range of my Mesh to include a boat dock. The boat lift is just too far away from the base station. I have power at the end and all along the dock, and have good connectivity at the shore end of the dock, just not to the far end. I would like to put a mesh router at the beginning of the dock and think that would give me the range I need. But the router is not weather proof. If I put it in a weatherproof plastic box I think it will get too hot (max operating range is 99 degrees… in a box in Florida it will surely get hotter than that.) I am considering a box that incorporates a PC type cooling fan, sucking air from the bottom, blowing it around the router, then exhausing through the bottom. It will still be at the upper end of the operating range but with active air circulation rather than just convection cooling it might be OK? Ideas or suggestions?

suggestion. get a plastic container box. mount the mesh router to the bottom (velcro or tape or …)
Turn it over and mount it outside upside down leaving the bottom completely open… might work …
or even partially open by cutting the lid down to half or …
