I have tried Wyze on an nVidia Shield. Didn’t work well. I don’t think I’ve tried on this other box. I only use it for tinyCam, I have the Shield for other stuff.
I’ll try it though.
Thanks, I’ll be interested to know if it works. I would do that. Don’t want to give tinyCam my login credentials though.
I just installed the Wyze app on the Android box.
- With Wyze not showing in the Play Store for tablets I was surprised to see it is there for the A-Box.
- It worked very well for my 10 minute test. I had to use a keyboard/mouse to scroll down through the camera list.
- Great. I was about to order one until…
- Oh, so I’ll need a separate BT keyboard and mouse? May not be worth it (for me).
Just this type of keyboard, cheap.
Amazon keyboard/mouse
You may be able to do it with the remote. You need to simulate sliding your finger on the screen.
I assume you have a contact at Wyze. You should let them know that the app shows up for the A-Box but does not for the nVidia Shield. It may help them with the tablet problem.
Good news everyone!
We are in the researching stage and moving forward with this. I don’t have an ETA at this point since we’re still in this stage and balancing things we’re working on (such as webRTC to improve streaming with Alexa and Google Assistant).
But we have an answer now.
Keep me in mind if you are looking for testers.
That’s great news. If we are talking about a PC client, This positions to you to beat out other products across-the-board IMO. There are a few things that some other products do that you don’t. This is one of them.
This is absolutely wonderful! Thank you!!
You’re welcome! I know that it has been frustrating to wait for an answer during this time. I appreciate everyone’s patience as we worked through the process.
Gonna be a few thousand happy voters. Like kids in the backseat on a road trip, get ready for the onslaught of when will it be here questions😉
Also feel free to put me in for testing. I know I’m in the beta testing lists, so may not get selected but if it helps I’m retired and usually got lots of time to fiddle around with stuff.
Are we there yet?
Woohooo! Thanks WyzeGwendolyn! Since I was the one that started this topic …, I’d appreciate being included on any testing opportunities that come up.
Caio y’all.
Awesome!!
That is Good News
Unfortunately, I just invested in a POE switch and some POE cameras. From the lack of traction, I assumed this was on the “Nice to have” list. Glad to hear I was wrong and hopefully I’ll be able to re-purpose some of my Wyze cams to this upcoming system.
It definitely makes sense and we hope you enjoy your POE cameras.
You can re-purpose the Wyze cameras now with the RTSP firmware. It may even allow you to monitor with the same software you are using for the POE cameras.
Great work!!!
