Thanks p2788deal for giving it a try. Most of the affected devices seem to be Pixels and Samsungs, but you have a Samsung, so that makes things a bit more mysterious.

My phone is a Motorola and I also tried it on an Asus tablet and it failed to record a clip on either so I don’t think the issue is brand specific, just seems isolated to Android though. The workarounds posted do seem to allow me to record a clip, but it’s not 100%, sometimes it still fails or the clip seems corrupted and doesn’t play back.
I’m using a Motorola 5g stylus and it doesn’t record I’ve also tried my Apple iPad. The only way it works on the iPad is if I hit record and move the timeline forward a few seconds.
I’ve contacted a class action lawyer to see if anything can be done. Apparently Wyze doesn’t seem to want to fix the problem and the camera is useless. I’ve been reporting this problem for the past 2 months. They also don’t pay attention to the forum.
Custom service is no help and tried to tell me you had to have a subscription. Since when? It’s false advertising!! If someone breaks into your home and you need to supply the recording you can’t unless you turn over the SD card.
Just out of curiosity, what did the lawyer say?

I don’t know. My experience with these class action suits in the US is that the end consumers get less than a dollar after the settlements are computed.

My last class action was a little over 3 thousand. It’s best to be the lead plaintiffs.

I don’t think WYZE has deep pockets. Since my two V4 cams have no issued with the reported problem I guess I will miss out on the big bucks. 
OT: It seems youtube is blocking large swatches of the US. I had to switch my VPN from the US west coast to Vancouver to view my usual Wimp.com videos.
