I’ve been trying to lock out our road from detecting activity on the V4 camera and having no luck. I’ve attached a screenshot of the zone and a short video.
It goes based on the green box, and you can see that box is crossing over into the area you haven’t greyed out. Try greying that block right behind the truck bed cap. You may have to do 1 or 2 more also. When it is at an angle like that the box tends to really spill over because the box is never angled, always flat with respect to the cam itself.
If that still doesn’t fix it, try a “reset services” on the cam but I suspect it is just the overlap.
Thanks for the input, I’ll play around with the area some more but I think it’s strange that if the whole road is grayed out to ignore disturbed pixels I would think it wouldn’t be recorded.
Yeah its counter intuitive but best I can tell it first creates the green box (whether you have it enabled or not) then uses that to determine if it hit the detection zone or not. Most of my cameras are fairly straight so for the most part the DZ is pretty accurate (flat bottom of box lines up with flat bottom of excluded area), but when at an angle like that, the corner of the long rectangle has a tendency to go way outside of where the motion is.
From looking at the video I think just that one extra box will do it.
I strongly recommend blocking out at least an extra square around the border more than you need.
The short rationale is that it’s been demonstrated that a moving object like a car isn’t determined solely by the changing pixels of the car itself, but an entire square “Bounding Box” around the car which extends a little to include pixels not actually moving. If that bounding box border overlaps your detection zone area, even though none of the pixels within your detection zone actually changed, it will still detect motion because there are pixels within the entire bounding box border which are changing/movement and since the bounding box overlaps into your detection zone, then motion will be detected.
Again the fix to this is to extend the greyed out area to be bigger so that the car’s bounding box border does not extend into the detection zone border. Then nothing will trigger.

Are you able to tilt the v4 downward a bit more so the road is completely out of view?

I’ve got it set up temporarily right now held on by the magnetic base and after I get a power supply I’ll be setting up multiple cameras and moving this one, I was mainly checking on the WiFi strength and I had to add an extender and if that’s going to be the case for some other cameras I’m not sure if Wyze is the way to go having to use 2 or 3 WiFi extenders while a different brand didn’t need any extender but 30 second clips is ridiculous.
