V3s only work in favorites view

About two weeks ago, both my V3 cams reduced to 0/kbs throughput when selected from the favorites menu. Both cams in the favorites view are live and work fine. When attempting to access, both stop on the loading stage 3 (getting video data) and then declare ‘unstable network reduce to 360’. None of my other cams (V2, V4, V4pro, OG1 and OG2 have no issues like this. The V3s have been in the same locations for at least the past year. One is less than 10 feet from my router. The other is about 75 feet, but next to an OG2 facing a different direction. As stated, the OG2 has no network problem. I have reset one V3 to see if that helped, no such luck. Both have brand new SD cards with some storage used, but inaccessible since neither cam can get past stage 3 loading, but both are fine in the favorites view. I have removed SD cards are tried to access the cam, no such luck. Firmware is current on both cams. Like I said, both cams were fine over 2 weeks ago. What’s up Wyze?

I confirm. I have been seeing this issue lately too with the v3s I use as baby monitors.

Now that I see somebody else reporting the same thing, I’m certain this is not an isolated incident. So thank you for posting about it. Can you submit a log and post the log number here please?

It also wouldn’t hurt for some of us to create a support ticket for this issue. Director of support recently said that things strongly get on their radar once at least three people have reported it through a support ticket.

But if you can get me a log number I intend to pass that on to an employee.

More specifics would be helpful. I just accessed several V3 cameras via favorites and all are working without any issues. Steps to re-create?

Same here, all my six V3s work fine via favourites.

It’s working for me today.

Might’ve been a backend issue since I don’t believe I’ve had an app update and definitely not a firmware update in that time.

Will keep an eye out for intermittentcy.

For me, I had v3s in a group. I would open the group on the favorites page, then click on the individual V3. The live view would be frozen with no bitrate. That’s it.

It’s working when I check today though.

Android app latest, cam v3 firmware latest, four of five cams load well when tapped from the Favorites tab.

The fifth is most distant, fair signal, set to 360p, which helps, and this works well when cams get stuck (most often on step 3):

Also, I’ve found cams load most robustly (even weak signaled) from the Devices tab. Something to ponder, I guess. :man_shrugging:

@dbarry This may sound a little crazy, but do you happen to be using a Google Pixel 10 Pro (XL)?

I just found a bunch of people on Reddit reporting the same issue, and almost all of them/us have a Google pixel 10.

Even though it seems to be working for me again, I noticed somebody said something about mobile data, so I tried with mobile data and I’m seeing this issue when I use mobile data now. Bit rate will show up a couple of times and then suddenly drop down to zero and stop streaming. I even tried a VPN tunnel to make it look like my phone was on the local network, but still add the same problem. The only way I could get the cameras to stream is if I was on Wi-Fi. Other people are reporting that it’s not working on Wi-Fi for them though.

Some people think the issue might be related to subscriptions. But I have the cam unlimited subscription and it doesn’t work for me when I use mobile data at the moment.

Either way, I found a whole bunch more people reporting the issue, so it’s definitely more than an isolated edge case. I expect we’ll be hearing about this more soon.
