V3...variation in reception and night vision

I’m building a house and because my big pro system uses a lot of energy, $450 a year, i want to go with a WYZE V3 system on all the time and the big system only when we’re out.

Plus i have Cam Lite.

So to fully cover the outside and inside i needed 12 more cameras. Besides the 6 i have now.

Out of couriosity i hooked them all up and was unpleasently suprised that they are not all equal.

On very low light, pitch black to human eyes, i discovered that the cameras varied from being able to see how many plugs on the power bar to zero visibilty and only blue/black noise.

On the range test, about 70 ft and a few walls from the wifi, 3 of the 12 would not hook up no matter how much cursing i did.

Two power supplies created noise in the camera.

The above actually suprised me. So i bought 4 more cameras and testing them now.

EDIT…of course they were all set up with the same parameters and distance from the wifi.

There have been a few revisions of the v3 over time. Since they’re basically end of life cameras, what you’re buying is left over stock and is likely a mix of different revisions. There have been comments about differences in image between variants.

Have you updated them all to the same firmware? The ones that won’t connect might be resolved by doing a manual firmware upgrade, they might have really old firmware on them that can’t use the latest security protocols to connect.

All updated and on the same firmware. There are all the same current date.

I don’t have micro sd to cover them all to see if a few very old ones got in there. I’m referring to the problem i had with 2021 V3s and skipping in recordings when the net was off. I would be suprised ig 4 year old cameras were still around.
