When you swap your SIM, it forces your phone to hard re-register with the network and also reset all its network and APN settings, the new SIM may also have some new data on additional bands and settings that they’ve updated. I’m guessing that is what resolved it (probably the network and/or APN reset, which you can do via the phone settings also). I’ve had several eSIMs and pSIMs and never any difference between the two. But all that matters is it is working, as long as you don’t need that pSIM slot for something else, doesn’t really matter.
Since my carrier allows 5 free eSIMs per year, I install a new esim every year or sometimes even more often if I know T-Mobile has made band/tower changes around here.
Im sure some have seen this, while others have not, so I thought I would bring it over on here so that all may see it. I also am also having trouble with my v3s connecting they never are never actually connected correctly, because when I leave the house, I cannot see anything with them unless I get on to the web potal. I am definitely going to try this option and hopefully it will fix it but I don’t know. Good luck to all and hang in there y’all!
That is a totally different issue, those people could not get their cams to connect at all to their wifi. If you can connect at home but not away from home, you are likely being affected by the Xfinity/Rogers XB7 gateway issue - do you happen to have that gateway model? If so, try to get it replaced with an XB8. They have a known firmware issue with the XB7.
Long story short, replacing with XB8 or your own purchased modem and router (which will save you money in the long run anyway) is the best fix, but you can also try disabling “advanced security” which seems to fix it for some. The “advanced security” is just a blacklist of sites and IPs and often has false positives, and you cannot add exceptions to it.
You can also put the XB7 into bridge (modem only) mode and run your own router behind it. However you’ll still have to pay the monthly rental for the XB7 so you might as well just get your own modem at that point.
Idk why I’ve never messaged one of y’all… I just get on there and read common problems, and then get mad when I can’t fix it. Lol, hahaha. So, I’d like to say a huge thank you for reaching out and helping me.
So I have Hughes internet and it is an ht2000w. I’m sure you’re aware of their deal, and the fact that I have to use their equipment so I don’t know what to do with that. I have two OG cameras that I absolutely love! They never disconnect, nor do I ever need to power cycle them. I literally haven’t had any issues since day one. I got those two and the V3 this past Christmas. The first time I setup the V3, it was by way of the light 'socket and an outdoor porch light. I also had to do a firmware flash immediately out of the box, & Idk if that was correct or not honestly. However, between not liking the light & it not working correctly, I boxed up the socket and that’s where it has resided since.
I also have a V2 from way back in the day, it was the one that made me fall in love and I needed that like a hole in the head I’m sure. LOL but thank you for your help and reaching out. Im sorry if I posted incorrectly or broke any “thread” rules… I know that you are Super Wise in this area and I am ecstatic at the possibility of finally getting this fixed because you were smarter than me and reached out. I don’t know the details of the Hughes equipment, whether they have any sort of filtering like Xfinity/Rogers do. Another possibility with satellite is just that the upload speed is not fast enough, maybe the v3 need a bit more than the others.
I’ve noticed that each camera model also tends to connect to different Wyze and 3rd party servers. The OG has less connections than my Pan v3, so it could be that Hughes has some routing issue with one of the servers the v3 wants to connect to.
I think yours is something different and unique from this thread or the one you linked to (or the others where similar problems are discussed).
So to confirm, you can reach your OGs and v2 when away from home but not the v3?
Maybe try deleting the V3 from the app, then doing the reset procedure on the camera and setting it up from scratch (using a regular wall plug). In reality I think deleting it from the app tells it to do the reset procedure, but i’d do it again anyway.
Most of the cams need a firmware update out of the box, no issue there.
