I have several cameras across my property running on a fiber optic network straight to my home. Speed is not an issue. It seems with each update, my cameras cannot stay connected for any length of time. This last was less than 24 hours. I have started with V1 and upgraded each time but I’ve slowly lost confidence in the product. How can I use these for any type of remote security when I cannot keep them connected? I’ve tried high end mesh routers with these on their own network. Ive put half on a different network but even this doesn’t help. They just don’t stay connected. Inside nor outside. I want to love this product but I can no longer recommend it and im going to instead look for something else that I can replace all my cameras with instead. The frustration from the failed connections, dropped connections and then driving 5 hours just to set these all back up again is just too much.
Your symptoms are of a connectivity issue. Could be poor wifi quality (interference, too much distance, etc) or something in your router blocking something. Could even be issues with your fiber internet.
I have several Panv3 and they stay connected 24x7, even one that is in a very fringe wifi area.
If they don’t reconnect on their own that points even more to a connectivity problem, the rare occasion (usually rain) that the one I mentioned above does disconnect, it reconnects automatically.
Do they actually show disconnected in your router?
How are you powering them? Stock 2A adapter with stock 6 foot cable or something else? Have you tried a different adapter - a power surge could have damaged all 3 adapters. If your power fluctuates a lot, that can lock up the cams too.
If they are at a remote location, many people recommend putting them on smart plugs, so you can power cycle them remotely to try and get them back online. You definitely should not have to go through the setup process again.
It can also be settings in your router/mesh node that can interfere with the cams. Smart connect/band steering, WPA3, 40mhz channel width on 2.4ghz, etc.
