Besides that my V3 cams randomly stop continuously recording to SD and need a format to fix, then after format their good for how long?
Who knows?
Every now and then I will want to look for something in the past using the SD continuous record to only find it had stopped recording.
With Wyze if internet is lost the camera goes stupid, especially if there is loss of power even briefly during an Internet outage. The SD recorder only starts on cameras power up cycle if Internet is present.
This is just one of many reasons I am in the process of switching to Reolink cams.
No Subscription required for FULL Access and features unlike Whyze’s pay to play cameras.
For those of us whom started with Wyze V1 or V2 cameras back when Wyze was going to be a camera only company and never charge a subscription ended up changing that direction…
Reolink is Exactly what Wyze WAS going to be like until around V3 release, at that point the company went back on the business model and changed it totally for profit by subscription.
Firmware and Software are stable on Reolink unlike Wyze where it seems you’re the Beta Tester even without not being a signed up Beta tester, their signed up Beta testers are actually Alpha testers as the quality of public releases are full of bugs that THEIR testing should have caught prior to release if a normal company.
For the few dollars more Reolink is far less of a headache to maintain, actually there is no maintenance unlike chasing bugs in the latest releases from Wyze.
Are they paying you to troll and advertise? Everyone gets it, you love your Reolink. For your situation, they’re apparently better.
I now have 9 Wyze cams, most continuously record to SD card and some are events only. None have ever stopped recording or needed a format in over 18 months. Maybe you need to use higher quality SD cards?
It has nothing to do with differing opinion, I in no way think Wyze is the best solution out there for everyone.
But if I go over to Reolink forums and start posting in multiple threads “yeah Reolink sucks Wyze is way better” I’m sure people there won’t appreciate it either.
Your comments are not adding any value or helping anything, which is when things switch to trolling.
I know how, I’ve instructed others on how to do it.
You don’t seem to know how to use your Wyze cams and thus come here to complain about them constantly, so maybe I should complain that the forum isn’t filtering you for me?
There is 0 value in jumping into multiple threads of people asking for help and saying “throw out the cameras you paid money for and buy these other ones instead” (not that you put it anywhere near that eloquently). Especially if the problem they’re having won’t be solved by simply switching to another brand.
But go ahead, you clearly have some bone to pick with Wyze, and nothing I can do to stop you. Just think your time could be better spent doing other things.
Didn’t say the app. Said the cams. The problems you claim to have are at least partially due to incorrect SD cards or poor wifi, or just improper installation. If you really have such severe and frequent issues with so many of your cams, something besides “wyze sucks” is in play.
None of these more recent posts address or are even remotely relevant to the topic of this thread. The issue of being unable to playback footage from an SD card within a specific page on the application is still an unresolved issue. The more this tangential squabbling continues, the less likely there will be any meaningful solution the the problem that numerous members have experienced and reported.
This month old thread isn’t going to solve anything either way. People logging support tickets with log files is probably the only way to get some attention at Wyze.
