Unable to detect persons as close as vehicles

My cam can detect vehicles further away in the street but not persons until they’re much closer. I have cam plus and detection and sensitivity turned up all the way. It does not seem that moving it closer should be the solution. Ideas?

I tried to upload files to demonstrate but new users are not able to upload. I have one file of a FedEx truck coming down the street, detected just fine. A second file of me walking out my front door down the street, detected just fine. A third file of me walking back to my door but I’m not detected until I’m close to my front door. I want the camera to detect me at the same distance as the fedex truck or of my walking away at furthest distance.

Being a battery-powered cam, Battery Cam Pro requires a decent heat signature or radar cross section to “wake up” from sleep state in order to begin object detection and recognition. Cars and trucks have a significantly greater heat signature and radar cross section compared to a human. Walking away from your cam produces a larger signature than a vehicle on the street. But walking towards the cam initially produces an extremely small signature. Assuming your cam is NOT mounted behind a glass/window, If you could reposition the cam’s view so that people cross the viewing plane horizontally (left-right, right-left) vs your current head-on direction, you would significantly decrease the wake-up trigger time and increase likelihood of capturing events at a distance. If that’s not an option and you can’t move the cam closer to the street, you may wish to consider using a USB-powered cam (Cam v3, Cam v4, etc.) that doesn’t rely on PIR & radar to wake up. Cam v3, Cam v4, etc. are constantly “awake” looking for objects.
