My thermostat setup required a separate transformer. The transformer is plugged into a Wyze plug. When the thermostat goes offline, which it does constantly, just switch the plug off for 10 seconds and then on again. The thermostat always comes back online within 15 seconds. The plug never goes offline. If you have a different setup you need to find a way to control power to the thermostat through a Wyze plug, perhaps using the plug to control a relay. Sad that this is necessary. No other solution works more than once. You must find a way for a quick remote power cycle (off - on)

You can make this even easier on yourself with a Device & Service Trigger Automation:

  • IF
    • Wyze Plug
      • Has been off for 00:00:10
  • DO
    • Wyze Plug
      • Turn on

The Plug should turn itself back on 10 seconds after it’s turned off. If you have Wyze integrated with something like Google Home or Amazon Alexa, the you can just tell the voice assistant to turn off the Plug and let the Wyze Automation turn it back on for you. I do this with a few smart plugs (Wyze and other brands) for some easy device resets.
