Thermostat light goes out all the time

The light goes out after 10-15 seconds , I then have to walk up to it and move my hand in front of thermostat to get it to light up. Is this normal in the firmware to do this. I like to be able to sit in my chair about 15’ away and be able to see temperature when ever I want. Not having to get up and activate the da- - thing.
From looking at other purchasers of Wyze products , the testers don’t really do much for actual end users in getting normal operating procedures like other manufacturers. Eco bee for one, thermostat is lit up all the time so temp is visible. No batteries to contend with so what’s the issue having thermostat light on all the time??

I agree, it’s a ridiculous design limitation for no reason at all.

Still unsolved in 2023…

I’ve had other issues with Wyze products being completely unreliable and no support or improvements for the issues I’ve had. Nothing but wasted money on their products, even though I’ve tried to work through the issues.

The only Wyze products that will remain in my home are those nightlights. The ONLY reason they still work correctly… is because they are NOT SMART!

Not to mention, when using the Wyze thermostat… out bills went up dramatically. I have to turn it off and on like a normal one… which defeats the purpose of its design.

Switching back to a basic Honeywell Home this weekend.
