The Rule Team would like you to vote on some Rule Actions

Thanks! Found it, using FireFox.

A timed disable of motion tracking would have been helpful last night during the lightening and hail storm here in Colorado. My v3PCs were going crazy. I finally put them into privacy mode.

In regards to chime/ring option on wyze cameras in rules that was posted here:
I see no way to vote on your post. It has been a go to feature, That is now only available on my previous wyze OG cams where the rule already exists. Bring it back please. It has so many great purposes.

  • Add Ring option back to Cameras.

I agree. For whatever it’s worth, I commented about this in a different Wishlist topic:

That post actually links to some related topics, and I think that particular topic might be the kind of “master” topic for voting (above the first post) and sharing comments about the specific Rules/Automations features you’d like to see implemented.

What’s the plan for any kind of progress update since Wyze initiated this poll? I think it’d be useful to see a periodic feedback comment here from someone on the Wyze Team, similar to the Fix-It Friday updates.

I’m also bumping this for more :eyes:.

Almost half a year has gone by, no new rules have been made available (even the extremely basic ones from the poll), no responses from Wyze on the detailed and well written responses/suggestions in this thread, and seemingly no progress made on the rules engine. It seems they actually removed stuff from the rules in the meantime (see above). I’m not holding my breath unfortunately.

I get it. I know the Ring action was removed, for one thing (which is annoying and seems like an unnecessary way to kill a useful Action). Since Wyze initiated the poll, though, I think it’s fair to expect some follow-up and accountability…or it could just launch, fail, and fizzle like their referral program.

Yesterday, I paid my monthly subscription to IFTTT to do the most basic thing: turn off push notifications when I get home and turn them on when I leave. It doesn’t work within Wyze, but it would work perfectly in Google Home if they’d only expose that rule.

The same night, I woke to my porch floodlight pulsing. A quick investigation showed that my Internet was down for routine maintenance, and Wyze’s response is to pulse a light on and off, advertising that something is wrong with the security system.

Money is tight and I think Wyze knows that there are few affordable alternatives. As soon as I can save a bit, I plan on replacing all Wyze products. This thread is just another example that this company apparently is satisfied to merely keep rolling out gimmicks and aren’t interested in listening to their paying customer’s feedback.

Edit: by the way, if Wyze was listening, they would reply to this thread. The security breach earlier this year was bad enough. The company asked us to stick around, and no progress has been made. It’s very frustrating since I invested plenty into this ecosystem.

I know you’re not talking about security alarms and such, but talking about getting off the WYZE bandwagon I’ve been really happy with Cove Security to replace all of my WYZE “security” devices (alarm, window sensors, switches, etc.). They bundle Eufy, which I still don’t like, but WYZE is just out of touch with what made it so great in the beginning. Ever since their “‘someone can steal your Wyze camera and link to their account to delete all of your cloud recordings’ is by design” fiasco, I haven’t bought another Wyze device.

I don’t know the camera alternative, but for a security alternative, check out Cove.

You and so many others have reached out to me about this. Wyze wants consumers to buy their “home monitoring system” to get these features and others. And what do you know…the system comes with yet another separate subscription. They emailed me yesterday to let me know how to regain several features …wyze home system, and it has to be the complete system.

I am not giving them another dime. I am going to rename my devices, “WYZE enough to do just enough”. Man, has this company gone into the toilet. I don’t know what I was expecting with the app upgrades, but I know it was not what we got. Right now, I am kicking my ass for not spending a bit more money to deal with a company that does not share it’s ecosystem with others.

WYZE enough to do just enough.

I still can’t use my floodlight pro because the light will stay on all night after automation trigger. This shouldn’t be on a wishlist, it should be on a fix list.

We need “turn on motion warning” and “turn off motion warning” actions for the new doorbell duo automations. This is already available on the floodlight pro, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be available for the doorbell duo.
