Terrible, horrible customer service

Not only does my doorbell and cameras keep thinking there is a person there and notifying me when there is a cat or an insect or a shadow, but my shipment never arrived. Support did NOTHING. No replacement offered. No Refund or store credit even!

They have the tracking as having not arrived. It’s been more than 5 days!

I was going to keep buying but why waste money on something that I will never see!

Hi, Brian, welcome.

Are you looking for help (a customer service intervention, troubleshooting your cams, etc) or mainly wanting to vent?

If mostly venting, that’s cool, the tech can be frustrating and there’s definitely a learning curve to get detection and the like dialed-in.

Cheers

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I don’t think that’s typical customer service experience. I’ve been using Wyze cameras and other things since 2018. Although I’ve only had to deal with customer service a few times, they’ve been good each time. I actually had to contact them just yesterday for the first time in a while and they handled a replacement Pan V4 quickly and easily.

For anyone wanting a deep dive into Wyze customer service philosophy this very recent AMA will be interesting:

I have had good experience with them replacing a defective camera. I never even RECEIVED these cameras!

I have told it repeatedly that an insect and a cat are not people. I mean, they are not even close!

I am just wondering now who to complain to next. I can start writing bad reviews in other locations, but I thought I would start here first. I’ll give them a couple of days to make this right, then I will of course NOT purchase more Wyze products, which I planned to do, but I will also write more bad reviews. That’s how angry I am with their AI ‘help’ desk!

No matter what Wyze says in their advertising videos, the AI sucks. My recordings are constantly mislabeled. Just the other day it recorded a Vehicle and labeled it as a Person. Normally it won’t even label dogs or the people that are walking with them, but it labels the parked car in the street behind them correctly.

I don’t have a problem with Wyze misidentifying objects some of the time. I don’t expect 100% accuracy. Even Teslas ignore road construction barriers. :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

What I don’t like right now is that, I have Cam Plus and opted for smart object detection, but what do I see? 5 minutes of cloud recording, only 33 seconds of that are actual people/pets/cars. If Wyze deleted the 4 minute, 27 seconds of fluff, there’s no wasted time going over the useless segments. Not to mention all the extra storage that Wyze doesn’t need to maintain.

I have a problem with Wyze misidentifying car headlights for people every few minutes all night long. I have to turn notifications off on that one camera so I can sleep. Also, I totally agree that Wyze is wasting bandwidth and storage space with all the motion detections when I have clearly select person detection only on the cameras.

When a company advertises a product to be able to do something, we should never think it’s okay that it doesn’t. But your comparison to a Tesla isn’t even close to a good comparison.
