Stop With The Motion!

Last Saturday my Cam V4 started triggering “Motion” all the time…incessantly

worthless motion events1

What happened??

No only the Cam V4 but the OG Telephoto

Please make it stop!

The only way to make it stop is by turning off “Motions” in the settings, and guess what…that turns off ALL notifications!

There was an issue recently where some cameras switched to notify about “complete motion” detected Even if motion notifications were turned off.

There are two possible solutions to this that worked for me.

The one that definitely works that I would suggest is to go into the app settings. Scroll down to where it says reset services and tap that button. Then you will need to go back through your event and notification settings and re-set them up. This fixed it for sure on every camera that I had the issue on.

Alternatively, what fixed it on most of the cameras and is a little easier, was to go into the camera settings, and open. Either the notification or the event settings And manually toggle on the motion notification, and then toggle it back off. That fixed it on the majority of my cameras that I tried it on. This way of doing things is a little easier and less work, but it’s possible it may not solve all your issues if you have some other stuff going on. It’s safer to tell it to reset all the services and then set the event and notification settings back up again.

If I misunderstood you, and you are saying that you want motion notifications (not just AI notifications like person detection), but just don’t want so many of them, then you will have to configure the detection zone and detection sensitivity settings differently. I also have a pool, and it triggers events 24/7 for every camera that can see the water. This is because the water is constantly moving and reflecting light, causing the camera pixels to continually change and detect motion. Swimming pools pretty much cause constant motion all day and especially all night. The only solution to this is to to create a detection zone that completely blocks out the entire pool, and possibly an entire extra grid border around the pool in order to prevent constant motion notifications from the water. But I suspect that you just want to be notified when there is a person near the pool (which is what I do) and just have person notifications active around the pool but not get notified of motion which would be constant notifications at least every 5 minutes or more often. In which case my first explanation will solve the issue for you, assuming that you have the subscription.

I confirm that this is suddenly happening to me again today. The above Solutions I previously listed about either using reset services for toggling the motion notification setting on and then back off did solving the issue for me again.

Had the same issue a week or two ago. Looks like it’s happening again for some reason.

Yep, their Ai and server need a cleaning. lol.

Window OG complete motion detections all day long, reset etc. doesn’t appear to help.

And an OG Telephoto not detecting anything or sending events. Finally replaced it with a spare regular OG, but lost telephoto. :person_shrugging: Factory reset, and all the other games played.

Telephoto always out of stock.

Definitely a hassle for me.

I’m out of spares. Reolink Lumas Pro and or POE will be the future replacements.

Cost 3 times as much or more but seem to work since I have two testing for many months.

Maybe some Wyze window mounts as my OGs in windows die.

It also started happening to me today. From my own account and also some accounts who have shared access with me. One account who shares their access with me has v1 or v2 cameras and no matter what we try including turning off all motion and notifications settings, these cameras are still sending me notifications for “complete motion”. I finally had to just remove my access from those shared accounts.

For my own cameras, this morning my OG Telephoto cams and Floodlight Pro cams started sending me these notifications. Going to their settings and toggling notifications on and then off again seems to have stopped those.

It is maddening.

I had it a couple weeks ago too but the only way I noticed (since I always only have “other motion”) was that I started getting notifications on cams that had notifications turned off.

Have not noticed it again today and I’ve definitely had motion at those same cams. Last time “reset services” also worked for me though so yeah I’d suggest anyone having that issue tries that.

It’s happening on fewer camera models for me today. I saw it happening on all of my floodlight Pro cams. I haven’t yet noticed it on my other camera models yet, but it does seem like other people are reporting certain other camera models doing it. I think most camera models aren’t doing this currently though.

Pretty sure last time it only affected my OGs. My v4 and Panv3s were fine. Looking at my notifications for today does not appear I got any from cams with them disabled, so guess I’m on the lucky list this time.

At least it didn’t start at 3:05AM like last time

Notifications are working as they should for me. I wanted to chime in with my configurations in case it helps the Wyze Team track down the problem for those experiencing Notification issues.

I have Cam Plus Lite so I only get Person Notifications. I only have Cam v3 cameras all on firmware version 4.36.16.6114.

I have Event Recording set to Motion and All Events.

I am still on App version 3.14.0 (56)

I only get Notifications on my iPad Pro on IOS 26.5. I have Notifications toggled Off on my Android devices.

This suggestion was made in a related topic:

I’d be interested in learning if @Brewskie (and @G2740) is sharing Cam access with another user, because I’m pretty sure @carverofchoice does, and I see that @skyhawk also mentioned that:

Since this seems like it’s coinciding with the new production app release, it has me suspicious that they may have mucked something up on the server side and that’s why it’s affecting some Cams (presumably shared) that weren’t included in the shared-access notification control rollout but that are mentioned here in this topic: Cam OG, Cam OG Telephoto, Cam Floodlight Pro. That’s all just speculation on my part at this point, but it’s something I commented about in the other topic. I’m just trying to connect the dots. :man_shrugging:

Interesting hypothesis. I do have some cameras shared with other accounts, though they haven’t used or even logged into their shared accounts in a long time now. But it may be enough that having the camera shared at all for any reason may cause a reset on the notification status for some accounts.

I just checked and all my FLPros that were doing this just yesterday were shared with my secondary account (that I use for testing purposes), so it’s possible.
However, a lot of other shared cameras DID NOT do this.

Yeah, I think it’s pretty clear that something is happening on the back end. I’m just thinking out loud here and trying to piece together commonalities, but it’s not really my problem to solve.

Is this another “year of the camera” solution? 2026 has been a really brutal year for WYZE stability and issues. At least they aren’t launching new products every month or two again.

This is happening on our Floodlight Pro cameras. It’s not affecting me (primary account) but it’s affecting my wife’s shared account on those cameras. She gets the complete motion notifications ALL DAY LONG. It’s crazy. I can’t figure out how to get it to stop. Started a few days ago.

If it is not affecting your primary account, can you log your wife into the Wyze App with your credentials instead of sharing your cameras?

I don’t have shared cameras.

Good to know. When I mentioned my thoughts in Firmware and App Release - 6/16/2026, Jason said that it’s a different issue and that they’re working on a fix, so my speculations are off base.

Or so you’re told anyway.

It’s possible that Jason has been given incorrect or incomplete information, as well. I think what’s included in the public release notes for most apps and firmware speaks to how their communication about these things tends to be light on detail, and I suspect that he’d share more if he could.

I wonder how much “vibe coding” is now involved in firmware and software releases. I’m seeing it more and more at my company, and they’re even pushing HARD on all of us (non coders) to “find a way to save one hour per week using AI”. They gave us all full Copilot licenses yesterday. I’m all set. I spend more time validating what AI comes up with than just doing it myself. I’m assuming after a while they’ll want 2 hours per week, then 4, etc etc.

I will say for coding (since I’m not a software engineer but dabble) it is a going way to get pointed in the right direction. But you can never just accept what it spits out.

Heck even the “meeting summary” that Teams generates is severely lacking.
