Squirrel Away

Everyone is happy and all is calm UNTIL IT ISN’T

Wow I counted at least 9 in that video. Word is getting around about the new hangout spot.

Beware of damage to wooden structures. Houses, fences, etc. As an owner with a wooden house (not aluminum sided), that video strikes terror in my heart, lol. They eat my house alive. Well, wear down their teeth, which has the same effect.

Thanks for the warning. I have other wooden squirrel play structures that the squirrels chew on that are not pictured.

So far for several decades, we have an understanding. I feed them and they leave my rough cedar-sided house alone.

The only bad thing the red squirrels here eat is my phone landline, twice.

?

Wow.

When there is no Cell service and no power I can still use a phone. I have an old telephone I can just plug into the outdoor connection box and use a phone like I have done during power outages/earthquakes and other typical California events.

I can see that. At least you upgraded from the telegraph.

Luckily my DSL still has power for 7 days during an outage, provided by the telco. I can then call over wifi, if cell service is down. Even my 93 year-old Dad, got rid of his landline. Friends and sister went first. Dad sold me on the idea since, I dislike spam calls. I also have UPSs and generators for power backup.

Cannot wait for satellite calling and texting to come out in the future. I signed up for the beta but haven’t heard anything.

Just got this from T-MOBILE today.

Good backup in a power-out situation. Hopefully skies will be clear. It usually is after a hurricane.

I would plug it in and it would ring immediately with someone saying they have been trying to get ahold of me for car maintenance or a political ad.
