The sprinkler controller app crashes immediately when using iOS 18.0 beta. Are there any solutions? Anticipation on when that might get fixed? Other apps seem to work fine…
I know there was a recent issue with the Sprinkler controllers over the weekend and they should’ve implemented a fix for it on Monday sometime. I would recommend clearing the cache and trying again. Go to the Account Tab → App settings and next to cache tell it to clear the app cache. Then close and reload the app and see if that fixes it. It might be crashing because it’s trying to use the buggy cache and just needs to pull the new fix freshly for it to work normal again. See if that helps.
Thanks for the quick response and suggestion. I tried but it didn’t work. you made me think that maybe a reload of app might help, but that did not work either. I use the spinkler app daily and it seems to have started when I downloaded the iOS 18.0 beta. Hoping there is a fix before I am forced to reload prior iOS. Thanks again, much appreciate the effort!
I saw there were some other people with the iOS 18 Beta that had some other issues too. Are you using the Wyze app out of the App store, or the Beta version in Test Flight? It might be worth trying the other one out.
I’m thinking maybe Wyze has fixes for the iOS 18 beta coming out in their Wyze Beta app that’s on iOS Testflight. It could be worth trying that.
Users are reporting that both production and beta Wyze app versions have the same issue. I.e., if running beta iOS 18, sprinkler controller is inaccessible regardless of Wyze app version. I think at this moment the only solution is fall back from beta iOS 18. Or wait for a fix on one end or the other, but there is no telling how long we’ll be waiting. This is good example of why choosing a beta app or firmware is not a good idea if the app or device is important. It’s almost a given that beta anything will have some degree of issues.
Just loaded Wyze Beta version and it worked. Good call! Besides that, I like the new interface. Thanks much again for such a quick response and great suggestions!
