Sound notifications on Battery cam pro

How do I turn on notifications for sound events on battery cam pro?
I can see motion events but do not see sound like in other cams.
I have an intermittent noisy fridge and need to be able to record when the noise occurs (I think compressor) is rattling for 5-20 seconds to add to service call request.

Thanks.

@tc10,

I have 3 WBCP. I was wondering the same thing.

If you look in camera Settings > Record Sound you will see a toggle for Record Sound.

I haven’t tested this but I suspect it will only record sound but but does not show or allow the specific type of sound that other cams have. I’m on camplus unlimited. Not sure if that makes a difference.

p.s. On 3.3.5 b612

Battery-powered cams (BCP, WCOv1, WCOv2, etc.) don’t have sound events. They are asleep until woken up via IR heat signature>PIR sensor. They can’t detect sound while sleeping, but can record sound once triggered by PIR motion.

Interesting.

I have my battery cams on continuous record. I have them plugged into solar panels from Wasserstein and they stay at 100%.
Interesting on not recording sound event. It would be nice to have the option and be able to turn it off like other events.

I will add this to wish list. :grinning::slightly_smiling_face:

I’d like it also. And also have my BCP cams either plugged in via USB or solar panel. But regardless of external power source, internals sleep until woken up via PIR (or BCP radar). Changing that architecture sounds like more than a firmware change which means it’s never going to happen with existing hardware design.

@tc10,

Sanity check.

Just ran a test by setting driveway WBCP to “Continuous SD” recording. Turned on sound record in advanced setting. Only tested for 5 minutes but a car drove by. Went to SD playback. The car driving by sounded like a car driving by.

yes, that part works fine. My sound records just fine. It is the sound activated events that I wanted to turn on.
Most Wyze cams have an option to set a sound level for sound based events as well as motion based events. Seapup explained that the battery cams do not have sound activated events, but yes they do record sound.
